Bioscape Moss Yawning Tree Monster 16 x 12 x 12cm
A whimsical mossy tree creature with an open-mouthed hideaway. The Bioscape Moss Yawning Tree Monster is a hand-finished, non-toxic resin ornament at 16 × 12 × 12 cm, styled as a moss-covered tree face with a wide “yawning” mouth cavity fish and shrimp can shelter in.
Key features
- Hand-finished resin – cast and hand-painted, texture and colour vary slightly piece to piece.
- Moss-covered detailing – faux moss built into the resin, not a separate applied layer that can peel off.
- Wide mouth hideaway – the open “yawning” cavity gives fish and shrimp an easy-access shelter rather than a narrow tunnel.
- Conversation-piece scale – sized to work as a feature piece rather than a background detail.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums and planted or moss terrariums, where its scale works as a feature piece. Not designed as a reptile climbing or basking prop – it's built and finished as an aquatic ornament.
Care and maintenance
Rinse thoroughly under running water before adding it to the tank to clear manufacturing dust or loose resin particles. No soaking or curing required – it's inert and won't affect pH or water chemistry.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
Will it affect my water chemistry?
No – it's a non-toxic, inert resin that doesn't alter pH or hardness.
Does it float or sink?
It sinks and sits in place on the substrate; no gluing or weighting down is needed for normal use.
Is the mouth cavity big enough to shelter more than one fish?
The wide opening suits a small group of nano fish or a shrimp colony sheltering together, rather than a single narrow tunnel that only fits one animal at a time.
Is it reef safe?
Bioscape markets it as safe for both freshwater and marine setups; rinse well and introduce gradually in a sensitive reef system if you're being cautious.
