Bioscape Open Tree Stump 27 x 26.5 x 29.5cm
A large hollow resin tree stump built to work as both an aquascape centrepiece and a genuine shelter for bigger tank residents. At 27 x 26.5 x 29.5 cm, the Bioscape Open Tree Stump is hand-cast and hand-painted from non-toxic resin to look like a weathered trunk, with an open cavity running through the piece that fish and larger invertebrates can actually use as a hide, not just admire from outside.
Key features
- Genuinely hollow — the cavity runs through the piece, giving community and semi-aggressive fish a real hide rather than a decorative shell.
- Hand-finished resin — cast and hand-painted, so texture and colour vary slightly piece to piece.
- Freestanding or fixed — sits on the substrate on its own, or can be secured to the tank background if you want it locked in place.
- Scaled for bigger tanks — at nearly 30 cm tall, it reads as a proper centrepiece rather than a nano accent.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums as a display centrepiece or shelter feature for community and semi-aggressive fish. Not sold or marketed as a reptile or terrarium feature — this is an aquatic ornament.
Care and maintenance
Rinse thoroughly before adding it to the tank to clear manufacturing dust or loose resin particles from the cavity. Given its size, a bucket soak and rinse is easier than trying to do it under a tap. No curing or soaking period is needed — it's inert and won't affect pH or hardness.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
Will it affect my water chemistry?
No — it's an inert, non-toxic resin that doesn't alter pH or hardness.
Does it float or sink?
It sinks and sits in place; no gluing or weighting down is needed for normal use.
Is it big enough for larger fish to actually use as shelter?
Yes — at 27 x 26.5 x 29.5 cm with a cavity running through the piece, it's sized for the shelter needs of larger community and semi-aggressive fish, not just small nano species.
Can I use it in a reptile enclosure?
It isn't marketed for that use — Bioscape sells and finishes this piece as an aquarium ornament only.
