Bioscape Space Helmet No.1 11 x 11cm
A compact, classic-style astronaut helmet sized for nano tanks. The Bioscape Space Helmet No.1 is a hand-finished, non-toxic resin ornament at 11 × 11 cm, styled as a rounded astronaut helmet with an open cavity fish and shrimp can use as a hideaway.
Key features
- Nano-friendly footprint — the smallest of the three Bioscape helmet ornaments; see the comparison table below.
- Hand-finished resin — cast and hand-painted, so texture and colour vary slightly piece to piece.
- Open hideaway cavity — a shelter spot sized for small fish and shrimp.
- Classic rounded helmet shape — a compact retro sci-fi accent.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for nano and small display tanks, freshwater and marine, and as a shelter feature for small fish or shrimp. Where you want a larger stand-alone centrepiece, the bigger Space Helmet (16 × 12.5 × 11 cm) is the better fit — see the comparison table above.
Care and maintenance
Rinse thoroughly under running water before adding it to the tank to clear manufacturing dust or loose resin particles. No soaking or curing is required — it's inert and won't affect pH or water chemistry.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
What's the difference between No.1 and No.2?
No.1 is 11 × 11 cm and No.2 is 11 × 12 cm — both are the same compact, classic helmet style, with No.2 offering marginally more internal cavity. Both are smaller than the 16 × 12.5 × 11 cm Space Helmet, which is sized as a bigger centrepiece.
Will it affect my water chemistry?
No — it's a non-toxic, inert resin that doesn't alter pH or hardness.
Is it safe for shrimp?
Yes — as an inert, non-toxic resin ornament it's safe for shrimp and other invertebrates, and the cavity gives them somewhere to shelter.
Is it reef safe?
Bioscape markets it as safe for both freshwater and marine setups, but as with any ornament in a sensitive reef system, rinse it well and introduce it gradually if you're being cautious.
