Bioscape Steampunk Octopus 16 x 17 x 8cm
A steampunk octopus ornament with gear-lined tentacles and built-in hideaways. The Bioscape Steampunk Octopus is a hand-finished, non-toxic resin ornament at 16 × 17 × 8 cm, styled with cog and rivet detailing across its curled tentacles and sized to work as a feature piece or hideaway in a nano or standard aquarium.
Key features
- Hand-finished resin – cast and hand-painted, so texture and colour vary slightly piece to piece.
- Steampunk gear detailing – cog and rivet texture worked into the tentacles and body, not a printed or applied surface pattern.
- Multiple hideaway gaps – the curled tentacles create several nooks fish and shrimp can use as shelter, rather than one single cavity.
- Compact footprint – 16 × 17 × 8 cm sits comfortably in nano and standard aquariums without dominating the aquascape.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums where a feature ornament with several hiding spots is wanted. Not suitable as a climbing or basking feature for reptiles or amphibians – it's an aquatic ornament, not terrarium decor.
Care and maintenance
Rinse thoroughly under running water before adding it to the tank to clear manufacturing dust or loose resin particles. No soaking or curing is required – it's inert and won't affect pH or water hardness.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
Will it affect my water chemistry?
No – it's an inert, non-toxic resin that doesn't alter pH or hardness.
Does it float or sink?
It sinks and sits in place on the substrate; no gluing or weighting down is needed for normal use.
Is it reef safe?
Bioscape markets its ornament range as safe for both freshwater and marine setups, but as with any ornament in a sensitive reef system, rinse it well and introduce it gradually if you're being cautious.
Will the tentacles trap debris?
The gaps between tentacles are open enough for normal gravel vacuuming and flow to reach – spot-clean during routine maintenance if detritus builds up in the tighter gear crevices.
