Exo Terra Repti Clear Internal Filter 250 Impeller Assembly Shaft
A worn or snapped impeller shaft is the most common reason a Repti Clear 250 goes quiet. This genuine Exo Terra spare replaces just the shaft that drives the impeller, without buying a whole new filter.
Key features
- Genuine Exo Terra part — manufactured to the original fit and tolerance, not a generic substitute.
- Restores drive to the impeller — fixes a filter that has gone quiet, runs rough, or has stopped pushing water through the spouts.
- Fits without special tools — the impeller housing on the Repti Clear F250 opens by hand.

Will it fit my filter?
This shaft is sized for the Repti Clear F250 impeller assembly only. It does not fit the Repti Clear F150 or F350 — those use a different impeller housing and take their own shaft (the F350 shaft is listed separately as RP196D). Check the model printed on your filter's lid before ordering.
What it doesn't fix
If the impeller fan blades themselves are cracked or worn rather than the shaft, replace the impeller fan (RP195C) instead — the two parts wear independently and either can fail first.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Exo Terra's standard spare parts warranty against manufacturing defects. Sent from Brisbane / North Lakes, standard parcel delivery Australia-wide.
Common questions
How do I know if the shaft is the problem, not the whole pump?
If the impeller spins freely when you turn it by hand but the motor still hums, or the impeller sits loose and wobbles in its housing, the shaft has usually worn or snapped. If the motor doesn't hum at all, the fault is more likely electrical rather than the shaft.
Do I need tools to replace it?
No. The impeller cover on the Repti Clear F250 unclips by hand; no screwdriver or specialist tool is needed.
Can I use this on a Repti Clear F350?
No — the F350 impeller assembly is a different size. Use RP196D for the F350.
