Fluval Aquaclear AC Surface Skimmer Unit Large

• Uses the flow you already have – clips onto your existing AquaClear intake, no extra powerhead or pump needed.
• Self-levelling float – tracks the water surface as the level in the tank changes, so it keeps skimming through evaporation and top-offs.
• Clears surface film and floating debris – improves oxygen exchange and light penetration by removing the oily layer that builds up on the surface.
• Tool-free installation – slides straight over the filter's intake stem.

This is the large version, sized for the AquaClear 70 and AquaClear 110 power filters. The smaller AquaClear 20, 30 and 50 use a separate, smaller surface skimmer attachment – check your filter's model before ordering.

This is an intake attachment only – it does not include the AquaClear power filter itself. Fit it to your existing AquaClear 70 or 110.

Will this slow down my filter's flow?

It changes where the filter draws water from – the surface rather than mid-water – but it doesn't add restriction the way a clogged intake would. Rinse it along with your regular filter maintenance if flow drops.

Does it keep working as the tank level drops between top-offs?

Yes – the float is self-levelling, so it keeps tracking the surface as water evaporates, within the normal range of a top-off cycle.

Can I fit this to a smaller AquaClear filter?

Not this version. The AquaClear 20/30/50 range uses its own smaller surface skimmer attachment, sold separately.
