Restore both stages of filtration your 306, 406, 307 or 407 canister lost to a worn-out pad. This is the genuine Fluval Bio-Foam+ insert (Fluval part A237), supplied as a pack of two, with the dense, porous structure that traps fine particles mechanically while giving beneficial bacteria somewhere to colonise.

Will it fit my filter?
This pad is sized for the 06-series 306 and 406 canisters and the current 07-series 307 and 407 canisters – the four models share the same media basket footprint, so one pack covers all of them. The 306 and 307 suit aquariums from roughly 90-330 L (40-70 US gal); the 406 and 407 suit roughly 150-500 L (50-100 US gal). It is not sized for the smaller 106/107 or 206/207 filters, which take a different pad.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for the Fluval 306, 406, 307 and 407 canister filters, in freshwater or saltwater systems.
- Not suitable for the Fluval 106, 107, 206 or 207 canisters, or the FX-series – those use their own foam sizes.
Care and maintenance
Rinse in removed tank water – never tap water – to keep the bacteria colony alive, and replace once the foam no longer springs back after squeezing. Change one media type at a time rather than the whole basket together, so the filter never loses its entire bacteria population in one service.

If you're servicing more than one Fluval canister, the Bio Foam MAX 206/07 - 306/07 and Bio Foam MAX 406/07 packs cover the equivalent stage on the smaller and larger 06-series canisters, if you're running more than one tank size.

Common questions
Does one pack replace the whole basket?
Yes – the pack of two is sized to refill the Bio-Foam+ stage in one canister in a single service.
Can I use it in a 106, 107, 206 or 207 canister?
No. Those smaller filters use the 106/107 or 206/207 foam pads, which are a different size.
Do I need to replace both pads at once?
You can stagger them if you'd rather not disturb the whole colony in one go, though most owners find it simplest to change the pack together and stagger the other media instead.
Will it work in a saltwater tank?
Yes – the foam itself is inert and suits freshwater and saltwater systems equally.
