Colour & specimen: This fish's colouration may look different in your own tank depending on your lighting, diet, stress levels and water conditions, and can vary between individual fish of the same species. You will not receive this exact fish pictured; the one you receive will be a similar size, colour and condition.
WA & TAS orders: state biosecurity regulations restrict which live animals can be sent to Western Australia and Tasmania — please check what we can send to you before ordering. See delivery info
Fluval Bug Bites Colour Enhance Flakes
An everyday colour-boosting flake built on insect protein and shrimp-derived astaxanthin. Key features
- Black soldier fly larvae base — insect protein ahead of grain fillers on the ingredient list.
- 46% crude protein — from herring meal, fish protein concentrate and shrimp meal combined.
- Natural colour support — shrimp meal, marigold extract and haematococcus algae meal supply carotenoids rather than synthetic dye.
- Omega-3 and omega-6 enriched — 1.8% and 2.2% minimum for skin and fin condition.

Feeding directions
Feed as much as fish will clear in two minutes, two to three times daily. Remove any uneaten flake to keep water quality up.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for tropical freshwater and marine community fish where colour development is the goal — tetras, livebearers, gouramis, cichlids and similar. Not a medicated or therapeutic product; it supports natural pigmentation through diet and won't correct colour loss caused by poor water quality or illness.
Goes well with
Fluval Bug Bites Tropical Granules for larger fish in the same tank, and a feeding ring to keep flake in one spot in a filtered aquarium.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by the manufacturer's freshness guarantee in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Best used within 6 months of opening; store sealed in a cool, dry place.
Common questions
How quickly will I see a colour difference?
Diet-driven colour change is gradual — expect weeks, not days, and it works best as part of consistently good water quality rather than as a fix on its own.
Can I feed this as a staple, not just a treat?
Yes, it's a complete flake food at 46% protein and can be fed as the everyday diet, not just an occasional colour boost.
Is it reef or invertebrate safe?
It contains shrimp meal and a standard trace mineral inclusion of copper sulphate, as most commercial fish foods do — keep it away from copper-sensitive invertebrates if you're target-feeding rather than letting the whole tank graze.
Which pack size should I choose?
The 18 g pouch suits a single small tank or a trial before committing further; 45 g, 90 g and 180 g work out cheaper per gram for larger collections, provided the pack is used within six months of opening.
