Fluval Curved Planter Scissors 25cm
Curved, long-necked scissors built for trimming aquatic plants close to the substrate without disturbing the layout around them. The curved blade profile lets you angle into tight spots between hardscape and plant clusters that straight aquascaping shears can't reach cleanly.
Key features
- Curved 25 cm blades – angle in close to the substrate and around hardscape for precise trims.
- Carbonized stainless steel – corrosion-resistant construction built for repeated contact with tank water.
- Long-neck, ergonomic handle – keeps your hand clear of the waterline while you work deep in the layout.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for trimming stem plants, carpeting plants and foreground growth close to the substrate in freshwater planted tanks.
- Not suitable for heavy pruning of thick driftwood roots or hardscape – these are precision trimming scissors, not cutting tools for wood or hard materials.
Care and maintenance
Rinse and dry the blades after each use to keep the carbonized coating from spotting, and store them out of standing water between trims.
Safety
Sharp curved blades – keep out of reach of children and handle with care around glass and acrylic tank walls.
Goes well with
Pair with a set of aquascaping tweezers for planting stems after trimming, and a substrate spatula for smoothing the foreground once you're done.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Fluval's standard consumer warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships standard parcel delivery.
Common questions
Can these cut driftwood or thick roots?
No – they're designed for precision plant trimming, not for cutting through wood or hardscape.
Will they rust?
The carbonized stainless steel coating resists corrosion from regular contact with aquarium water, but rinsing and drying them after use will extend their life.
Are they suitable for a nano tank?
The curved, long-necked design is well suited to trimming close to the substrate in smaller layouts where a straight-bladed tool is harder to angle in.
