Two genuine replacement bulbs for the original Fluval EDGE canopy, sized to drop straight back into the fitting it left the factory with. This is Fluval's Shielded Halogen Replacement Bulb (Hagen item HG 11699), a 10 W low-voltage halogen lamp on the MR11 fitting used in the original EDGE canopy's spotlight – the version fitted before the EDGE 2.0's LED arm. The pack contains two bulbs, enough to replace both spots in one go.

Will it fit my Fluval EDGE?
This bulb fits the halogen spotlight fixture used in the original Fluval EDGE canopy, on either tank size. The EDGE 2.0 canopy uses a sealed LED arm instead of replaceable bulbs, so this part does not fit an EDGE 2.0 – check your canopy for a removable bulb cap before ordering. If in doubt, contact us with your canopy's markings and we'll confirm fitment before you buy.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: owners of an original-style Fluval EDGE with a halogen spotlight who want a genuine, correctly shielded replacement rather than a generic MR11 bulb of unknown quality.
- Not suitable for: the EDGE 2.0 LED canopy, or as a general aquarium light – halogen output is limited and unsuited to anything beyond low-light or non-planted setups.
Safety
Halogen bulbs run hot in use – allow the canopy to cool before changing a bulb, and handle the new one by its base rather than the glass. Skin oils on the glass can shorten a halogen bulb's life or cause it to fail early, so use a cloth or tissue if you do touch the envelope.

The halogen canopy has a small removable cap over each spotlight for bulb access. The EDGE 2.0's LED arm is a sealed unit with no bulb cap and no user-replaceable bulbs.
How long does a halogen bulb like this typically last?
Fluval doesn't publish a rated lifespan for this bulb, and running hours vary with how long the light is on each day, so we can't give a figure – if brightness has visibly dropped, it's due for replacement.
Can I use a generic MR11 bulb instead?
You can, but a generic bulb may not carry the same shielding, and beam angle or colour temperature can differ from the original. This genuine part is matched to the EDGE fixture.
