No. The whole point of the AquaStop valve is that it seals the hose line so you can service the filter without draining the tank or the hoses.

Will a small amount of water still escape?

A few drops from residual water in the fittings is normal; a steady drip or spray means the valve isn't sealing and needs replacing.

Does this fit the Fluval FX4?

No. The FX-series uses its own valve design — this part is specific to the G3 and G6.
