Fluval Plant/Marine LED 3.0/4.0 Light Unit 115 - 145cm 59w Driver
Restores power to a Fluval Marine 3.0 or Plant 3.0 LED strip in the 115–145 cm, 59 W size. This is the genuine Fluval driver (transformer) that plugs into the light bar and into the wall – not the LED bar itself. If a 3.0 unit in this size has stopped powering on, flickers on startup, or cuts out under load, the driver is the most common point of failure and the first part worth swapping before assuming the LEDs have failed.
Key features
- Genuine Fluval part, A20438 – not a generic third-party driver, so output voltage and current match what the light bar expects.
- 240 V AU power cable included – plugs straight into a standard Australian wall socket, no adaptor needed.
- 24 V DC output, up to 2.5 A (60 W) – matched to the 59 W load of the 115–145 cm Marine 3.0 and Plant 3.0 units.
- Drop-in replacement – connects at the same point as the original driver; no rewiring of the light bar itself.
Will it fit my light?
This driver is built for two specific Fluval models, both at 59 W and both in the 115–145 cm size:
| Model | Range | Wattage |
|---|---|---|
| Fluval Marine 3.0 Bluetooth LED (model 14517) | 115–145 cm | 59 W |
| Fluval Plant 3.0 Bluetooth LED (model 14523) | 115–145 cm | 59 W |
It does not fit the smaller 32 W or 46 W units in the same 3.0 range – those use a different, lower-rated driver. Check the wattage printed on your existing light bar or driver before ordering.

Common questions
How do I know if it's the driver and not the LEDs?
A light that won't power on at all, or that flickers and cuts out under normal use, is far more often a failed driver than failed LEDs. If the light bar shows any illumination at all when tested with a known-good driver, the LEDs are fine.
Is this a genuine Fluval part?
Yes – it's the manufacturer part A20438, not a third-party or universal driver.
Does it come with a plug for Australian power points?
Yes, a 240 V AU power cable is included.
Will this fit my 4.0 unit?
Fluval hasn't published confirmed compatibility for the 4.0 range for this part, so we can't guarantee fitment there – this listing is confirmed for the 3.0 Marine and Plant units above. If you're unsure which driver your 4.0 unit needs, check the wattage and connector on your existing driver, or get in touch before ordering.
