Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums running a Fluval 05, 06 or 07 series canister. Fluval notes that marine tanks without a surface overflow (a built-in weir that skims the top layer of water down to a sump) benefit most. Fluval lists it for the 05, 06 and 07 series only, so it is not for FX series canisters, AquaClear hang-on filters or other brands, and it does nothing without a compatible canister.
