Suitable for the U1, U2 and U3. Not for the U4, which takes its own shaft (A15401), sold as the Fluval U Internal Filter Impeller Shaft for U4.

Unplug the filter before taking it apart. Fluval's instructions are to rinse the impeller and its attached magnet in clean water, never with detergent or soap, and to clean the impeller well (the recess the impeller sits in) with a small brush or cotton bud.
