The bigger corner shelf, sized for an adult bearded dragon that has outgrown a small perch. The Penn-Plax Reptology Lizard Lounger Large Corner is a hand-woven, 100% natural seagrass hammock that suction-mounts into a terrarium corner, giving your reptile a stable platform to climb onto and bask on above the substrate. At 35.5 x 35.5 cm it's the larger of the two corner sizes in the range, and it fixes to glass, acrylic or rigid plastic without drilling or adhesive.

Key features
  • Hand-woven natural seagrass — a fibrous, grippable texture reptiles can climb and rest on, not a moulded plastic mesh.
  • Corner-fit triangle shape — two straight edges sit flush against adjoining glass walls, so the platform doesn't intrude on floor space.
  • Suction-cup mounted — fixes to glass, acrylic or rigid plastic terrarium walls.
  • 35.5 x 35.5 cm platform — enough surface for an adult bearded dragon or a similarly sized lizard to fully stretch out on.
  • Raises your reptile off the substrate — useful for positioning closer to an overhead heat or UVB source, and for keeping a shedding animal's grip surface dry.

Will it fit my enclosure?

This lounger needs a smooth, flat run of glass, acrylic or rigid plastic on both walls of the corner — it won't hold on mesh or screen. At 35.5 x 35.5 cm it needs more clearance than the Small Corner, so measure the corner before ordering if the enclosure also has a water dish, hide, heat cable or basking branch competing for that space. It suits standard adult bearded dragon and similarly sized enclosures; for a narrow enclosure with no free corner, the XLarge Hammock mounts along a straight wall instead.

Which Lizard Lounger do I need?

All three Penn-Plax Reptology Lizard Loungers in this range are hand-woven from the same natural seagrass fibre. The difference is shape and size:

Lounger Shape Size Best for
Small Corner Corner triangle 27 x 32 cm Nano and small enclosures, juvenile or smaller-bodied reptiles
Large Corner Corner triangle 35.5 x 35.5 cm Standard adult bearded dragon-sized enclosures
XLarge Hammock Straight 75 x 17.8 cm Long, narrow walls or enclosures without a free corner

If your enclosure is on the smaller side, the Small Corner is the same shape at a more compact size.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for adult bearded dragons, larger geckos, iguanas, and similar climbing reptiles able to grip a woven surface and make use of a 35.5 x 35.5 cm platform.

Not suitable for aquatic or semi-aquatic species that need a submersible perch — this lounger is not water safe. Not suitable for enclosures with only mesh or screen walls, since the suction cups need a smooth, rigid surface to seal against. If the corner space is tight, the Small Corner takes up less room.

Care and maintenance

Spot clean with a diluted vinegar-and-water solution, rinse, then dry the lounger completely before returning it to the enclosure — a hairdryer on a low setting speeds this up. Don't submerge it fully or machine wash it, and don't cut it to size, as this frays the weave. A lounger left damp in a humid enclosure is the most common cause of mould, so check it during routine cleaning.

Goes well with
  • A basking lamp or heat source positioned above the lounger, so it functions as an actual basking spot rather than just a shelf.
  • A digital thermometer to confirm the temperature the platform is actually reaching.
  • The Small Corner in a second corner, for a lower climbing level or a shared enclosure.
Warranty and delivery

Penn-Plax doesn't publish a specific warranty term for the Reptology range; it's covered by the standard consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law regardless. It ships as a standard parcel item — no special freight handling applies.

Common questions

Is the Large Corner big enough for a full-grown bearded dragon?

At 35.5 x 35.5 cm it comfortably fits an adult bearded dragon's body length. Penn-Plax doesn't publish a weight limit, so for very large or heavy-bodied individuals, check the platform against your reptile before relying on it as a sole basking spot.

How much of the corner does it actually block?

The two straight edges run 35.5 cm along each wall, so it takes up a full-sized corner. If you need to keep more of that corner clear, the Small Corner has a smaller footprint.

Will the suction cups hold this larger, heavier size long-term?

Penn-Plax doesn't publish a load rating, but the same suction-cup design is used across the range. Check the cups periodically and re-seat them if the platform starts to sag.

Can I use it in a plastic tub enclosure?

Yes, provided the wall is rigid and smooth enough for the suction cups to seal — textured or flexible plastic won't hold the mount reliably.

Is the seagrass safe if my reptile chews on it?

It's an untreated natural plant fibre with no published toxicity concerns, but it isn't marketed as an edible enrichment item, and heavy chewing will shorten its life. Keep an eye on any reptile that nibbles at it.
