Red Sea Reef Spec Media Bag 1000ml 2Bags 24 x 14cm
Keep loose filter media exactly where it belongs. This two-pack of Red Sea Reef-Spec media bags holds up to 1000 mL of carbon, phosphate remover or other loose media each, in a fine mesh that contains granules while still letting water pass freely through the bed.
Key features
- Two bags per pack – run one while you prepare the next, so a media change never leaves your filter empty.
- 1000 mL capacity each, sized for a standard media reactor chamber or sump filter basket.
- 24 × 14 cm with a secure closure that won't work loose in flow.
- Fine mesh – contains carbon and other granular media without letting fines escape into your system.
- Reusable – rinse and refill through many media changes rather than buying new bags each time.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine systems, and for any loose granular or pelleted media – carbon, phosphate remover, GFO. Not intended for fine powdered media, which can work through the mesh; use a finer specialist bag for that.
Care and maintenance
Rinse before first use and between media changes. Replace the bag itself if the mesh stretches, tears or the closure stops holding.
Goes well with
Pairs with Red Sea Reef-Spec Carbon or any loose granular media you're running in a reactor or sump basket.
Warranty and delivery
Sold as new stock; not a mechanical item requiring a manufacturer warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as standard parcel freight.
Common questions
Will fine carbon dust leak through the mesh?
Some very fine dust can pass through any media bag on first use – a quick rinse before running it removes most of this.
Can I use these for phosphate remover or GFO instead of carbon?
Yes – the mesh is sized for granular and pelleted media generally, not specifically for carbon.
How many times can I reuse a bag?
Many media changes, provided the mesh and closure stay intact – check both each time you refill.
Will this fit in my media reactor?
At 24 × 14 cm it suits most standard reactor chambers and sump filter baskets sized for up to 1000 mL of media; check your reactor's chamber dimensions if it's a compact or nano unit.
