Red Sea Reefer 225 Micron Thin Mesh Filter Bag 100mm/260mm
A 225-micron thin-mesh filter sock for Reefer and MAX-S sumps, sized to fit a standard 100mm (4") bag holder. This is Red Sea's monofilament mesh version of the Reefer filter bag family – built to catch detritus in a new setup or straight after a heavy clean-up.

Will it fit my sump?
Red Sea states this bag fits REEFER and MAX-S systems using a standard 4"/10cm filter bag holder. Red Sea does not publish an itemised list of every Reefer size and generation using this holder diameter, so if unsure, measure your existing holder or check with us first.

Suitable for marine, reef and freshwater sumps using the same 100mm holder. Not a substitute for biological or chemical filtration.
Care and maintenance
Red Sea recommends keeping at least three bags in rotation. Back-flush with a garden hose, or soak in diluted vinegar or bleach for 24 hours and rinse thoroughly; a cold machine wash with regular detergent also works. Replace when flow slows noticeably – Red Sea doesn't publish a fixed replacement interval.

A second and third bag for rotation, and Red Sea's felt filter bags for a finer polish once your system has matured.

Will this fit my Reefer sump?

How is thin mesh different from felt?
Mesh is a looser, monofilament weave that rinses clean in seconds and dries fast. Felt polishes finer but clogs sooner.
