Red Sea ReefMat 1200 Inlet Hose

The exact-diameter hose that keeps flow reaching the fleece. This is Red Sea's genuine replacement inlet hose for the ReefMat 1200 — the corrugated, kink-resistant hose that feeds sump water into the filter at the diameter the unit is designed around. Fit it when the original has kinked, split, clouded with biofilm that won't clean off, or lost the flexibility to sit properly in the cabinet.

Diameter 25 mm (1 in), corrugated, kink-resistant PVC
Connector USA/metric PVC connector
Sold as Single hose
Symptom this fixes

Reduced flow into the ReefMat, a kinked or collapsed section of hose, or a hose that's gone cloudy with biofilm that a wipe-down won't shift. A restricted inlet is also a common cause of a roller filter advancing fleece more often than it should — the sensor reacts to a slow chamber fill, not just a clogged mat.

What it doesn't fit

This hose is sized for the ReefMat 1200. The ReefMat 250 uses a different part (R35483); the ReefMat 500's inlet hose is a separate part again — check with us if you're not sure which model you're ordering for.

Fitting it

Push-fit onto the unit's USA/metric connector, no tools required. Check the full hose run for kinks and biofilm at every fleece roll change — restricted inlet flow is easy to miss until the filter starts advancing fleece too often.

Goes well with
  • Genuine hose connector kit (R35470) — fresh seals if you're replacing the connection as well as the hose.
  • Red Sea ReefMat 1200 — the filter this hose is made for.

Common questions

How do I know if my inlet hose needs replacing?

Look for kinks, splits, or a hose that's gone cloudy with biofilm that won't wipe clean. Reduced flow into the unit or more-frequent-than-usual fleece advances are also signs worth checking the hose over.

Will this fit a ReefMat 250 or 500?

No. The ReefMat 250 uses a different part number (R35483) and the 500 uses its own hose — this listing is for the 1200 only.

Does a longer or shorter hose change the flow rating?

The hose diameter, not length, is what the unit is designed around — keep the run as short and kink-free as your plumbing allows.
