Red Sea Reefwave 45 Power Supply
Converts mains power for the ReefWave 45 pump and controller. The Red Sea ReefWave 45 Power Supply (genuine part R35242) runs on 230–240 V, 50 Hz mains — standard Australian household power — and is rated for the pump's full 8–45 W operating range. It's the exact-fit replacement when the original has failed or a cable has been damaged. It fits the ReefWave 45 only — the ReefWave 25 uses its own power supply, part R35231.
Key features
- Genuine Red Sea power supply for the ReefWave 45 (part R35242).
- Correctly rated for the pump's full 8–45 W draw across its speed range.
- 230–240 V, 50 Hz mains — suits Australian household power directly.
- Direct plug-in replacement into the existing DC cable run to pump and controller.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable when the pump won't power on at all, restarts randomly, or the controller loses power intermittently — a failing power supply is a more common cause of a "dead" ReefWave than the pump or motor itself. Not the fix for a pump that powers on but runs weak or noisy, which points to the impeller, rotor or motor assembly instead.
Safety
This is a mains-powered part. Run it from an RCD-protected circuit, keep it clear of splash zones, and fit a drip loop on the cable before it reaches the cabinet or stand. Disconnect it from mains power before opening or servicing the pump.
Goes well with
Worth checking alongside the Controller (R35241) if both stopped responding at the same time — a failed power supply often takes the controller's app connection down with it.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Red Sea's manufacturer warranty on genuine spare parts, in addition to your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a small parcel item at standard freight.
Common questions
What voltage does it run on?
230–240 V, 50 Hz — standard Australian household mains.
How do I know it's the power supply and not the pump?
If the pump won't power on at all, or restarts and drops the controller connection randomly, check the power supply before assuming the motor has failed.
Does this fit the ReefWave 25?
No. The ReefWave 25 uses its own power supply, part R35231.
Is it a direct plug-in replacement?
Yes. It connects into the same DC cable run as the original, with no rewiring needed.
