Suitable for freshwater, marine and planted aquariums, in any type of filter. Seachem says it is particularly effective in a canister filter. It is biological media, not a mechanical filter, so place sponge or floss before it to catch debris.

Set up your filter in this order: mechanical media first, then chemical media, then Matrix. Rinse it when needed.
