Ziss Fish & Shrimp Incubator - ZET E55

Keeps eggs moving in a gentle current so fungus never gets a foothold. The Ziss ZET-E55 is an air-driven egg tumbler that suspends fish and shrimp eggs in a continuous, oxygen-enriched water current inside a clear 55mm chamber. It mounts to the inside of the glass on suction cups and runs off your own air pump.

Key features
  • Continuous tumbling action — an air-driven current keeps eggs in constant gentle motion, which stops them settling together and going fungal.
  • Clear 55mm chamber — lets you check on the brood without opening the tumbler.
  • Suction-cup mounting — sits inside the display or a breeder tank, no drilling or clips.
  • Adjustable air valve — dial the current down for delicate eggs, up for a stronger flow.
  • Runs on air, not electricity in the water — no submersible motor near the eggs.
Specifications

Type Air-driven egg tumbler
Chamber internal diameter 55mm
Power source Aquarium air pump (not included)
Mounting Suction cups, inside the glass
What's included
  • ZET-E55 egg tumbler body
  • Air control valve (ZV-4)
  • 2 metres of airline tubing
  • 2 suction cups
  • Air diffuser
What you'll still need
  • An aquarium air pump — the tumbler has no pump of its own and will not run without one
Suitable for, and not suitable for
  • Suitable for: eggs of egg-scattering and egg-guarding freshwater fish — cichlids, angelfish, discus, corydoras and similar species — plus shrimp eggs stripped from a berried female or collected loose.
  • Not suitable for: raising free-swimming fry once they hatch — this is an incubator for eggs, not a fry grow-out box. Move fry to a separate rearing container once they're free-swimming. Not confirmed by the manufacturer for marine or reef use; treat as a freshwater tool.
Care and maintenance
  • Rinse the chamber and diffuser in tank water between broods — never tap water or detergent, both of which can harm the next batch of eggs.
  • Check the air valve setting after cleaning; airflow that's too strong can knock delicate eggs against the chamber wall.
Goes well with
  • An adjustable air pump, so you can dial flow in without buying a separate valve
  • A small breeder or quarantine tank to house the tumbler away from adult fish that would eat the eggs
Warranty and delivery

Covered by the manufacturer's standard warranty against faulty parts, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a small, light item at standard parcel rates.

Common questions

What's the difference between an egg tumbler and a breeding box?

A breeding box holds free-swimming fry in still or gently filtered water. An egg tumbler like the ZET-E55 does something different: it keeps unhatched eggs in constant motion in an air-driven current, which is what stops fungus taking hold before they hatch.

Do I need to buy an air pump separately?

Yes. The ZET-E55 has no pump of its own — it's driven by airline connected to any standard aquarium air pump, which is not included.

What eggs can I put in it?

It's built for eggs from egg-scattering and egg-guarding freshwater fish such as cichlids, angelfish, discus and corydoras, as well as shrimp eggs.

Can I leave fry in the tumbler after they hatch?

No — once eggs hatch, move the fry to a proper rearing container. The tumbler's constant current is designed for eggs, not for free-swimming fry.

Will it fit a nano tank?

At 55mm internal diameter it's the compact size in the Ziss tumbler range, so it suits nano and standard tanks where a full-size tumbler would be too bulky.
