A built-in reflector and single lamp socket, sized to fit 12-inch terrariums. The Zoo Med Naturalistic Terrarium Hood (12", Item LF-50) sits on top of any 12-inch wide enclosure and holds one heat or UVB lamp up to 60 watts, giving you a single fixture for daytime basking light, night heat or UVB coverage without wiring a second unit onto the tank.

Will it fit my enclosure?
This hood is built for 12" wide enclosures, including Zoo Med's own NT-1 and NT-2 Naturalistic Terrariums. Measure the width of your terrarium's top opening before ordering – a hood sized for a 12" enclosure will not sit securely on an 18" tank, and Zoo Med sells a two-socket 18" version (LF-55) for those.
Which hood do I need?
If your enclosure is 12" wide and you're running one lamp – a single UVB tube, a single basking bulb, or a single night bulb – this is the right size. If you need heat and UVB running at the same time, you'll need the 18" two-socket version instead, since this hood only has room for one lamp.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for any dry terrarium up to 12" wide where you're running a single heat, basking or UVB lamp. Not suitable for humid or heavily misted paludariums without protecting the socket from direct water contact, and not a substitute for a second fixture if your setup needs simultaneous heat and UVB.
Safety
This is a mains-powered fixture. Fit it with a lamp guard where your animal can reach the bulb, and run any heat lamp through a thermostat rather than leaving it on a fixed timer.
Warranty and delivery
Zoo Med backs this hood with a 1 year warranty. Lamps are consumable and sold separately, and are not covered by the hood's warranty.

Can I run a UVB lamp and a heat lamp at the same time in this hood?
No – the 12" hood has one socket. Running both together needs the 18" two-socket version (LF-55).
What lamps does this hood take?
Any screw-fitting lamp rated to 60 W or less, including Zoo Med's ReptiSun 5.0 compact fluorescent UVB lamps, Daylight Blue basking bulbs and Nightlight Red night-viewing bulbs.
Does it come with a bulb?
No, the hood is sold as the fixture only – choose and order your lamp separately.
