Zoo Med Repti-Fogger
Rolling fog on demand, humidity your rainforest species can feel. The Zoo Med Repti-Fogger (item RF-10) is an ultrasonic humidifier that turns water into a fine, cool mist and delivers it into the terrarium through an adjustable hose — up to 3 feet long — so you can lift and hold humidity for rainforest reptiles and amphibians without adding any heat.
Key features
- Ultrasonic fogger — produces a fine, cool mist with no heating element, so it will not warm the enclosure.
- Adjustable fog output — dial the mist level to match your target humidity.
- 1 litre no-spill reservoir — refills without dripping into the enclosure.
- Adjustable hose up to 3 feet (0.9 m) — aim the fog exactly where you want it inside the terrarium.
- Pairs with Zoo Med's Environmental Control Centre — for automated, precise humidity and temperature control rather than manual dosing.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for: chameleons, dart frogs, crested and other tropical geckos, tropical invertebrates and rainforest or paludarium set-ups that need sustained elevated humidity.
Not suitable for: arid or desert set-ups — constant fogging in a low-humidity species' enclosure risks respiratory and skin problems rather than helping.
Care and maintenance
Use distilled or demineralised water to stop mineral scale building up on the ultrasonic disc, which cuts fog output over time. Empty and rinse the reservoir regularly, and monitor enclosure humidity with a hygrometer rather than by eye. Running the fogger on a timer, for a morning-and-evening cycle rather than continuously, mimics a natural humidity swing more closely than constant fog.
Safety
Keep the mains unit itself outside the enclosure and away from splashing; only the mist and hose enter the terrarium. Do not run the reservoir dry for extended periods.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Zoo Med's 90-day manufacturer warranty. Ships via standard delivery.
Common questions
Can I use tap water?
Distilled or demineralised water is recommended — tap water's mineral content builds up on the ultrasonic disc and reduces fog output over time.
Will it heat the enclosure?
No. It is an ultrasonic fogger, not a heater — the mist is cool, so it will not raise terrarium temperature.
Can I run it all day?
You can, but most keepers get a more natural humidity pattern by running it on a timer for set periods rather than continuously — check with a hygrometer to see what your enclosure actually needs.
Does it work with an automated controller?
Yes — it is designed to pair with Zoo Med's Environmental Control Centre for automated humidity and temperature control.
