Zoo Med Repti Lamp Stand Unit
Move heat and UVB off the mesh and onto a stand. The Zoo Med Repti Lamp Stand is a free-standing, height-adjustable pole that holds a clamp lamp or dome fixture above an enclosure instead of resting it on the screen top. Raising or lowering the arm is the easiest way to dial in a basking temperature, and lifting the fixture off the mesh keeps air moving through the lid instead of trapping heat against the screen.
Key features
- Adjustable height — extends up to 97 cm (38"), so the fixture can sit well above a tall enclosure or a stacked rack.
- Adjustable arm reach — the horizontal arm extends up to 38 cm (15"), positioning the lamp directly over the basking spot rather than the edge of the enclosure.
- Weighted, wide base — slides under the enclosure and stays put once a hot dome is hanging from the arm.
- Cord clips along the pole keep the power lead tidy and away from the heat source.
- Works with clamp lamps, dome fixtures and mercury-vapour lamps — anything with a standard clamp or dome mount.

Will it fit my setup?
Measure from the floor or cabinet top to the highest point you want the fixture to sit, then check that against the 97 cm maximum height and 38 cm arm reach. On a tall vivarium or a rack of stacked enclosures, the stand still needs clearance above the lamp to reach its full height — it doesn't clamp to the enclosure itself, so nothing about the tank's own height limits it other than reach.
What's included / not included
The stand ships as a single height-and-arm-adjustable unit with a weighted base and cord clips. Extension pieces for extra height, and the lamp, dome or bulb itself, are sold separately.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suited to any reptile or amphibian enclosure where a clamp lamp or dome needs to sit above open mesh, glass or an open-top vivarium. Not designed to support fixtures heavier than a standard dome and bulb, and not a substitute for a thermostat — the stand adjusts distance, not output.
Care and maintenance
Wipe the pole and base down with a damp cloth as needed. Check the arm clamp is fully tightened each time the height is changed, since a loose clamp lets a hot dome drop onto the enclosure.
Safety
Always pair the fixture on this stand with an appropriate thermostat or rheostat, and keep the weighted base clear of foot traffic once a hot lamp is mounted. Let the dome cool before adjusting its height.
Goes well with
A dome or clamp lamp fixture rated for the wattage of your heat or UVB bulb, a thermostat to control it, and a digital thermometer at basking height to confirm the temperature the adjustment has actually achieved.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Zoo Med's 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a standard parcel.
Common questions
Does the stand come with a lamp or bulb?
No. It's the mounting stand only — a fixture, bulb and thermostat are chosen separately for the enclosure.
Can it hold a UVB fixture as well as a heat lamp?
Yes. It suits any clamp lamp, dome fixture or mercury-vapour lamp, which covers both heat and UVB fixtures using a standard mount.
How do I get extra height?
Zoo Med sells extension pieces for the Large stand separately for setups taller than 97 cm.
Will the base mark my flooring?
The base is a smooth, weighted slide-under design meant to sit under the enclosure rather than on show; check it against delicate flooring before use as with any weighted furniture base.
