Zoo Med Turtle / Betta Filter Cartridge Medium
Keep your Turtle Clean or Betta Clean filter running at full strength. This medium replacement cartridge is the service part for Zoo Med's 10-gallon-class filters – the TurtleClean 10 and the BettaClean – carrying activated carbon to pull dirt, debris and discolouration out of the water column.
Key features
- Activated carbon core – polishes water clarity and pulls out dissolved discolouration as water passes through.
- Fits two filter families – the same cartridge services the TurtleClean 10 filter and the BettaClean filter (Betta Filter, ZM908).
- Rinse and reuse – the cartridge housing can be rinsed and reused rather than binned after one cycle.

Compatibility
Fits the Zoo Med TurtleClean 10 filter and the Zoo Med BettaClean filter (Betta Filter, ZM908). If your filter is a larger TurtleClean 20 or 40, this medium cartridge is not the correct size – check your filter's model before ordering.
Care and maintenance
Rinse the cartridge in old tank water, not tap water, to protect your bacteria colony between changes. Zoo Med doesn't publish a fixed replacement interval for this cartridge – as a general guide, replace it once water flow visibly slows or the carbon has been in use for several weeks, whichever comes first.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a standard small parcel item.
Common questions
Will this fit my TurtleClean 20?
No – this is the medium cartridge sized for the 10-gallon-class TurtleClean 10 and BettaClean filters. Larger TurtleClean models take a larger cartridge.
Do I need to remove carbon media before dosing medication?
Yes. Activated carbon will pull medication out of the water, so remove the cartridge, or swap in a media-free insert, before and during any medicated treatment.
Can I rinse it instead of replacing it?
You can rinse it in old tank water to extend its life, but the activated carbon is exhausted well before the sponge and mesh wear out – for carbon polishing, replacement still beats rinsing.
