Aqua Medic CO2 Reactor Compact Diffuser
A compact CO2 reactor that adds a non-return valve and a bubble counter to the same fitting, so you are not plumbing three separate parts into your CO2 line. The Aqua Medic Reactor Compact dissolves CO2 into the water column for planted freshwater aquariums up to 200 L, and its small footprint suits nano and mid-size tanks where a full-size external reactor will not fit under the cabinet.
Key features
- Integrated non-return valve – stops tank water siphoning back into the CO2 line if pressure drops, protecting your regulator and solenoid.
- Integrated bubble counter – lets you see and set your bubble rate without a separate inline counter.
- Compact body – designed to sit inline on the CO2 tubing without the bulk of a full external reactor.
- Rated to 200 L – sized for nano through to mid-size planted tanks.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater planted aquariums up to 200 L running pressurised or bulk CO2 with standard aquarium CO2 tubing. Not a substitute for a regulator or solenoid – it dissolves and meters CO2 already being supplied by your system, it does not generate or regulate it. Not designed for marine or reef systems.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by the Aqua Medic manufacturer warranty in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Standard parcel delivery Australia-wide.
Common questions
Will this work with any CO2 regulator?
Yes. The reactor sits inline on the CO2 tubing between your regulator/solenoid and the aquarium, so it works with any standard pressurised CO2 setup rather than a specific brand of regulator.
Do I still need a separate bubble counter?
No. The bubble counter is built into the unit, so there's nothing extra to plumb in.
What happens if my CO2 supply cuts out?
The integrated non-return valve stops water being siphoned back up the line into your regulator, which is the main risk when pressure drops or a cylinder runs out.
Is this suitable for a marine tank?
No – it's built for freshwater planted CO2 systems, not for reef or marine dosing.
