AquaVitro Premier 350ml

A chlorine and chloramine remover built for planted tanks, not reef systems. aquavitro premier is a concentrated potassium thiosulfate solution that neutralises chlorine and chloramine in tap water, without the sodium some conditioners carry and without shifting pH. It's the aquavitro line's water conditioner for freshwater and planted aquariums.

Key features
  • Removes chlorine and chloramine - a concentrated potassium thiosulfate solution, dosed into new water before or after adding it to the tank.
  • No added sodium - relevant if you're already managing sodium levels in a planted tank.
  • Won't shift pH - non-acidic, so it doesn't move pH the way some conditioners can.

Dosage and directions

Use 5 mL of premier for every 190 L (50 US gallons) of water, added directly to the aquarium or, preferably, to new water before it goes in. For exceptionally high chloramine levels, a double dose can be used.

How far a bottle goes

One 350 mL bottle treats around 13,300 L of tap water across its 70 doses (5 mL per 190 L).

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for: freshwater and planted aquariums, at every water change.

Not suitable for: reef and marine systems. Neutralising chloramine releases ammonia, which a planted tank's plants take up as a nutrient but a reef tank has no equivalent use for. Seachem does not recommend premier for saltwater - use a marine-rated conditioner such as Seachem Prime instead, and check its own dose rate rather than assuming premier's carries across.

Care and maintenance

No storage requirements beyond a sealed bottle at room temperature. Dose into new water rather than the display tank where practical, so the ammonia released is diluted before it reaches livestock.

Warranty and delivery

Seachem does not publish a separate warranty term for aquavitro liquid conditioners. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply regardless. Standard freight.

Common questions

Can I use aquavitro premier in a reef tank?

No. Seachem does not recommend it for saltwater. It works by converting chloramine into ammonia that plants absorb, which is the wrong outcome in a system with no plants to take it up.

Will it change my tank's pH?

No. It's a non-acidic formula and doesn't shift pH.

Does it contain sodium?

No. That's one of the differences from some other conditioners, and it matters if you're keeping sodium-sensitive plants or watching total dissolved solids closely.

What do I do if my tap water has unusually high chloramine?

Seachem states a double dose can be used for exceptionally high chloramine concentrations.

How is this different from Seachem Prime?

Both are Seachem chloramine and chlorine conditioners. Premier is the aquavitro-branded formula built specifically around freshwater and planted-tank use with no added sodium; Seachem Prime is the brand's general-purpose conditioner rated for both fresh and saltwater. If you keep both fresh and marine systems, Prime covers both from one bottle.
