Arcadia Twin Pack - DHP 50w + Halogen 75w PAR 30

One bulb heats around the clock, the other lights a basking spot in the day. The Arcadia Twin Pack bundles a 50 W Deep Heat Projector (DHP) with a 75 W PAR30 halogen basking lamp, both on an E27 screw fitting. The DHP throws infrared A and B with almost no visible light, so it can run 24 hours a day without disturbing a nocturnal photoperiod. The halogen adds a bright, warm-white basking pool for the hours the enclosure is lit. Together they cover the two heat jobs most reptile keepers end up buying separately - background warmth and a daytime hot spot - from one order.

Key features
  • 50 W Deep Heat Projector - infrared A and B heat with virtually no visible light output, so it can stay on through the night without acting as a light source.
  • 75 W PAR30 halogen basking lamp - a warm ~2,750-2,800 K spot for the daytime basking zone, on a frosted lens that spreads the beam rather than a tight hot circle.
  • Both on E27 - drop-in replacements for standard ceramic E27 fixtures; no proprietary fitting to source.
  • The 50 W DHP can outperform a 100 W ceramic heat emitter at the basking point, according to Arcadia, because the internal reflector focuses more of the output forward instead of losing it sideways and backward.
  • Two heat sources, two jobs - the DHP holds background temperature and night-time warmth, the halogen supplies the bright daytime basking spot baskers actually orient to.
Specifications
Contents 1x Arcadia Deep Heat Projector 50 W, 1x Arcadia Halogen Basking Spot 75 W PAR30
Fitting E27, both lamps
Voltage 230-240 V AC
DHP visible light output Virtually none - infrared A/B only
Halogen colour temperature Approximately 2,750-2,800 K (warm white)
Halogen UV output None - heat and visible light only
Halogen construction Hard glass, splash resistant, internal metal reflector, frosted lens
Thermostat requirement Dimming thermostat, one per lamp
SKU BA9193
Which lamp is doing which job?
Lamp Visible light Best use Typical run time
50 W Deep Heat Projector Virtually none Background and night heat, ambient temperature support Up to 24 hours, on a dimming thermostat
75 W PAR30 Halogen Basking Spot Bright, warm white Daytime basking hot spot Photoperiod hours only, on its own dimming thermostat

They are not interchangeable. Running the halogen at night lights the enclosure when the animal expects darkness, and running only the DHP through the day leaves baskers with warmth but no visual basking cue to orient to.

Heat gradient - Deep Heat Projector 50 W

Arcadia publishes a temperature-by-distance chart for the Deep Heat Projector, measured to the surface at each distance. Ambient room temperature affects the absolute figures, but the shape of the curve holds.

Distance from lamp Surface temperature
150 mm (6") 55°C
200 mm (8") 45°C
300 mm (12") 36°C
400 mm (16") 29°C

Set the actual basking distance with a probe or non-contact thermometer against your target species temperature, not against this table alone - Arcadia does not publish a minimum safe mounting distance for the DHP, and ambient conditions in your room shift every figure in the chart.

Arcadia has not published a distance-versus-temperature chart for the 75 W PAR30 halogen basking lamp specifically. Set its height the same way, with a thermometer at the basking platform, and expect a hotter, more concentrated spot than the DHP at an equivalent distance because the halogen is a visible-light spot lamp rather than a diffuse infrared panel.

What's included / what you'll still need

Included: one 50 W Deep Heat Projector, one 75 W PAR30 halogen basking lamp.

Not included: E27 lamp holders or fixtures for either bulb, a dimming thermostat for each lamp, a lamp guard for the halogen, and a mounting stand or clamp. Both lamps need a dimming thermostat - an on/off thermostat cycles a halogen hard enough to shorten its life, and gives the DHP no proportional control at all.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for: reptile, amphibian and invertebrate enclosures that need separate day and night heat sources - bearded dragons, blue-tongue skinks, pythons and similar species kept on a naturalistic light cycle.

Not suitable for: aquariums or paludariums where the fitting will get wet or splashed - the halogen is splash resistant, not submersible or waterproof, and neither lamp is rated for use without a guard where an animal can reach it. Not a UVB source - this pack supplies heat and, from the halogen, visible light only. A separate UVB lamp is still required for any species that needs one.

Setting it up safely
  1. Fit each lamp into its own E27 ceramic holder - do not share a holder or fixture between the two.
  2. Wire each lamp through its own dimming thermostat probe positioned at the basking point, not next to the lamp.
  3. Fit a lamp guard over the halogen wherever the animal can climb within reach of it.
  4. Run the halogen on the enclosure's daytime photoperiod and the DHP on whatever heat schedule your species needs, including overnight if your setup calls for it.
  5. Check the actual basking surface temperature with a probe or non-contact thermometer before placing the animal in - the published distance charts are a starting point, not a substitute for measuring your own setup.
Safety

Both lamps run hot enough to burn on contact - the DHP reaches 55°C at 150 mm and the halogen concentrates its output into a tighter, brighter spot. Use a lamp guard wherever the animal can reach either fitting, and always run both on a dimming thermostat rather than a plain on/off timer. Allow either lamp to cool fully before handling, and do not look directly at the lit halogen.

Goes well with
Warranty and delivery

Arcadia's published documentation does not state a specific warranty term for this twin pack. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply regardless of any manufacturer term, including replacement or repair for a lamp that fails outside of normal wear. Both lamps are glass - they ship boxed and are not oversized or dangerous-goods freight.

Common questions

Can I run both lamps on the same thermostat?

No. The DHP and the halogen have different wattages and different jobs - one running continuously, one on a daytime photoperiod - so each needs its own dimming thermostat and probe to be controlled accurately.

Will the Deep Heat Projector light up the enclosure at night?

No. Arcadia states it produces virtually no visible light, which is the reason it can run through the night without disrupting a nocturnal species' light cycle.

Does either lamp provide UVB?

No. Both lamps in this pack are heat and visible-light sources only. Reptiles that need UVB still require a dedicated UVB lamp alongside this pack.

What temperature will I get at my chosen distance?

The Deep Heat Projector chart above gives a starting point at four distances, but your result depends on ambient room temperature and enclosure ventilation. Arcadia has not published an equivalent chart for the 75 W halogen, so measure it directly with a probe or non-contact thermometer once installed.

Do I need a lamp guard?

Yes, wherever the animal can climb or reach the fitting. Neither lamp is designed for direct contact and both run hot enough to burn.
