Bioscape All in One Pond Filter Transformer

The transformer is the part of an outdoor pond fountain most likely to fail before the pump does.

This is the genuine low-voltage transformer for the Bioscape All in One Submersible Pond Filter, fitting both the BIS670 (no UV) and BIS671 (with UV) models. It steps 220-240 V household mains down to a safe 24 V DC supply, so only low-voltage cable ever goes near the water. Fit a new one if the existing transformer has stopped delivering power, has a cracked case, or has been affected by water.

Key features
  • Genuine fit for BIS670 and BIS671 – both models share the same 24 V low-voltage electrical architecture.
  • Steps mains down to 24 V DC – the pump, UV lamp (on BIS671) and fountain light all run at low voltage; mains voltage never enters the pond.
  • 6 m lead – reaches from the middle of a small pond to a wall outlet in most garden layouts.
  • Australian mains plug fitted – ready for a standard household outlet; see the safety notes below before you install it outdoors.

Bioscape does not publish a wattage or VA rating for the transformer itself on its retail listings. If you need this figure for an electrician's assessment, check the rating plate moulded into the transformer body.

Will it fit my filter?

This transformer fits the Bioscape All in One Submersible Pond Filter 2000LPH range – BIS670 and BIS671 – since both use the same 24 V pump, light and (on BIS671) UV-C lamp. It is not a universal pond transformer and is not rated for Bioscape's hi-lift pumps, floating solar units, or any aquarium equipment. Do not wire the BIS670/BIS671 pump directly to mains without this transformer in the circuit.

Safety
  • Run the transformer from a weatherproof outdoor power outlet protected by a residual current device (RCD). This is standard practice for any pond equipment.
  • Keep the transformer itself dry, elevated off the ground, and out of the fountain's splash zone at all times. Only the low-voltage cable and pump are designed to get wet.
  • Leave a drip loop in the cable before the plug, so water tracking down the lead drips off before it reaches the outlet.
  • Inspect the casing and cable for cracks or wear before each pond season, and replace immediately if either is damaged.
  • Switch off at the outlet before disconnecting or reconnecting the transformer.
Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for:

  • Replacing a BIS670 or BIS671 transformer that has failed, cracked, or been water damaged
  • Restoring power after a transformer left in the splash zone has corroded

Not suitable for:

  • Any pump or filter other than the BIS670 or BIS671
  • Direct-to-mains wiring of the pump – the transformer's 24 V step-down is required
  • Fixing a pump that hums but will not turn – that is an impeller fault, not a power supply fault. See the All in One Pond Filter Impeller with Shaft

Common questions

Will this transformer fit my BIS671 with UV as well as the standard BIS670?

Yes. Both models run the pump, light and (on BIS671) UV-C lamp at 24 V DC from an identical transformer, so this part fits either.

What plug does it use?

A standard Australian mains plug, ready for a household outdoor outlet.

My pump doesn't turn on at all – is the transformer the problem?

It's one of the two likely causes. If the pump makes no sound and the fountain light doesn't come on either, suspect the transformer first. If the pump hums but the fountain doesn't flow, the fault is more likely the impeller – see the impeller replacement part instead.

Can the cable be extended?

Bioscape does not publish guidance on extending the low-voltage lead. If 6 m does not reach your outlet, an outdoor-rated extension on the mains side of the transformer – not the low-voltage side – is the safer option, installed by a licensed electrician if you are unsure.
