Bioscape Heavy Duty Pond Air Pump 4200lph with 14 Outlets
Oxygen for the whole pond, not just the surface. The Bioscape Heavy Duty Pond Air Pump (BIS650) is a 50W dual-diaphragm air pump rated at 70 L/min (4,200 L/h) of air output, feeding a 14-outlet manifold so you can run airstones and diffusers across a pond up to roughly 8,400 litres from one unit. It suits ponds, large aquariums and aquaculture setups that need aeration spread over several points rather than a single stone.
Key features
- 70 L/min air output – rated 4,200 L/h, enough to aerate ponds up to approximately 8,400 litres.
- 14-outlet manifold – run up to 14 airstones or diffusers from one pump, spread across a large pond or multiple tanks.
- Dual-chamber, oil-free diaphragm design – no oil to contaminate the airline, and two chambers smooth out the pulse you get from a single-diaphragm pump.
- Dual air filtration – filters intake air before it reaches the diaphragms, extending pump life in dusty pond-shed installations.
- Manifold, clamps and adapter included – the 14-outlet manifold, stainless steel/spring hose clamps and a manifold adapter are in the box, so you're not sourcing fittings separately.

Which Bioscape pond air pump do I need?
| BIS650 – 4,200 L/h | BIS651 – 8,400 L/h | |
|---|---|---|
| Air output | 70 L/min (4,200 L/h) | 140 L/min (8,400 L/h) |
| Outlets | 14 | 33 |
| Rated for ponds up to | ~8,400 L | ~16,800 L |
| Power | 50W | 100W |
| Best for | Small to mid-size ponds, or a handful of aeration points | Larger ponds, or many airstones/diffusers spread across a big system |
Both share the same dual-chamber, oil-free design and 1.8m cord – the difference is scale. If you're feeding more than a handful of outlets, or a pond over roughly 8,000 litres, the BIS651 has the headroom; for a smaller pond or a modest number of diffusers, the BIS650 is the lighter, cheaper option and won't be running at a fraction of its rated capacity the way an oversized pump would.
Performance
Air output drops as back-pressure rises – a pump feeding deep diffusers or a long, narrow airline works harder and delivers less air than the same pump feeding a shallow, wide-open outlet. Bioscape's guidance is to use wide-bore airline tubing, keep air stones clean, and position diffusers at shallow-to-medium pond depths – around 4–5 metres or less – rather than deep water, where the extra back-pressure will noticeably cut the air actually delivered. Bioscape hasn't published a quantitative output-versus-depth table for this model, so treat 4,200 L/h as the pump's rated free-air output, not a guaranteed delivery figure once its outlets are loaded up with airline and diffusers.
What's included
- Bioscape Heavy Duty Pond Air Pump (BIS650)
- 14-outlet manifold
- Stainless steel / spring hose clamps
- Manifold adapter
Airline tubing, air stones/diffusers and check valves are not included and are sold separately.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: outdoor ponds up to roughly 8,400 litres, large freshwater aquariums, aquaculture and holding systems needing aeration spread across multiple points.
- Not suitable for: submersion – this is a surface-mounted air pump, not a submersible unit – or as the sole aeration on ponds noticeably larger than its rating, where the BIS651 or a second pump is the better fit.
Safety
Rated 220–240V / 50Hz for the Australian mains supply and fitted with an AU plug. Mount it above the waterline in a dry, ventilated position – it's a surface air pump, not a submersible one – and run the airline down to your diffusers rather than the pump itself. Keep it protected from flooding in heavy rain.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects on arrival, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Bioscape's AU site doesn't publish a specific warranty term for this model – contact us if you'd like that confirmed before you buy. Standard parcel delivery applies.
Common questions
How many airstones can I run off this pump?
Up to 14, one per outlet on the included manifold – though running fewer, larger stones, or fewer outlets with longer airline, will generally give stronger flow per stone than running all 14 at once.
Is this pump submersible?
No. It's a surface-mounted air pump – install it above the waterline in a dry, ventilated spot and run airline tubing down to your diffusers.
What size pond is this rated for?
Bioscape rates it for ponds up to approximately 8,400 litres. For anything larger, or if you're running airstones deep or through a lot of airline, the BIS651 (8,400 L/h, 33 outlets) has more headroom.
Does it come with airline or air stones?
No – the manifold, hose clamps and manifold adapter are included, but airline tubing and air stones/diffusers are sold separately.
What's the warranty on this pump?
Bioscape's AU site doesn't publish a specific term for this model; it's covered against manufacturing defects in addition to your Australian Consumer Law rights. Contact us if you need the exact term confirmed before ordering.
