Key features
- Genuine natural wood – colour, grain and shape vary piece to piece; expect the size grade, not the exact photo.
- Grazing surface – the textured bark grows a biofilm layer shrimp and fry graze on.
- Releases tannins – tints the water tea-brown as it leaches, fading over weeks.
- Works wet or dry – suits submerged aquascapes and terrarium or paludarium builds.
- Floats until waterlogged – soaking, and ideally boiling, speeds up sinking.

Common questions
Will it change the colour of my water?
Yes, at first. Tannins tint the water tea-brown, fading as the wood cures.
Do I need to boil it first?
Not compulsory, but it speeds up waterlogging and sinking.
Is it safe for shrimp?
Yes, once soaked. Uncured wood added to an established tank can shift pH quickly for a sensitive colony.
Can I use it in a terrarium?
Yes, dry or part-submerged, as branch decor in a terrarium or paludarium build.
