Bioscape Solar Pump with Remote Panel
A fountain pump that runs on sunlight, not a power point. The Bioscape Solar Pump with Remote Panel is a small submersible fountain pump wired to a separate 3.5 W solar panel on a 3 m cable, built for ponds, water features and birdbaths where running mains power isn't practical. It ships with riser stems, spray heads and filter sponges, and drives flow of 120–220 L/hr depending on the nozzle fitted, up to a maximum head of 40 cm.
Key features
- No mains wiring needed – power comes entirely from the included 3.5 W remote solar panel; there's no cable run back to a power point.
- Remote panel on a 3 m cable – the panel sits separately from the pump on its own ground stake, so it can face the sun even if the pump itself sits in shade.
- Multiple nozzle options included – five nozzle attachments and three fountain nozzle sets are in the box, plus a mini riser tube to set fountain height.
- IPX8 rated – rated for continuous submersion, not just splash resistance.
- Filter sponges included – three filter sponges protect the impeller from debris in an open pond or water feature.

What's included / not included
Included: solar water pump, 7 V remote solar panel, 5 nozzle attachments, 3 fountain nozzle sets, mini riser tube, 3 filter sponges and a ground mounting stake for the panel. Not included: any battery or backup power source – this is a direct-solar unit, so output follows sunlight in real time.
Performance
Flow varies between 120 and 220 L/hr depending on which nozzle is fitted, up to a rated maximum head of 40 cm. Bioscape doesn't publish a full flow-against-head curve for this pump, so treat the maximum head figure as the ceiling the pump can lift to, not a guaranteed flow rate at that height. Because there's no battery, output also tracks sunlight through the day – full sun gives the strongest fountain, and flow drops off as cloud cover or shade increases.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for ponds, birdbaths and small water features that sit in reasonably direct sun and don't need to run overnight. Not suitable as an aquarium filter return pump or for any application needing continuous flow after dark or in low light – with no battery, the pump stops when the panel isn't generating enough power.
Care and maintenance
Rinse the filter sponges regularly to keep the impeller protected and flow consistent, particularly in an open pond where leaf litter and algae build up. Keep the solar panel's face clean and free of leaves or dust, since anything shading the panel reduces pump output directly.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
Does it run at night?
No – there's no battery, so the pump only runs while the solar panel is generating enough power, which means daylight hours in reasonable sun.
Can the panel and pump be positioned separately?
Yes – the panel connects to the pump on a 3 m cable and mounts on its own ground stake, so you can put the panel in full sun even if the pump sits in a shaded part of the pond.
What's the maximum lift height?
40 cm. Flow will be lower at greater lift than at a shallow, low-restriction setup.
Is it safe to leave fully submerged?
Yes – the pump is IPX8 rated for continuous submersion, not just splash exposure.
