Bioscape Steampunk Skull 1 14 x 11 x 19cm
A tall steampunk skull ornament with a deep eye-socket hideaway. The Bioscape Steampunk Skull 1 is a hand-finished, non-toxic resin ornament at 14 × 11 × 19 cm, styled with mechanical gear and rivet plating and shaped to work as a background or upright feature in an aquascape.
Key features
- Hand-finished resin — cast and hand-painted, so texture and colour vary slightly piece to piece.
- Upright profile — at 19 cm tall against an 11 cm depth, it reads as a background or vertical accent rather than a flat centrepiece.
- Deep eye-socket cavity — the hollowed eye sockets give small to mid-sized fish a shaded retreat.
- Steampunk gear plating — cog and rivet detailing worked into the cranium, not a printed surface pattern.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums, particularly taller tanks where a vertical background feature is wanted. Not suitable as a climbing or basking feature for reptiles or amphibians — it's an aquatic ornament, not terrarium decor.
Care and maintenance
Rinse thoroughly under running water before adding it to the tank to clear manufacturing dust or loose resin particles. No soaking or curing is required — it's inert and won't affect pH or water hardness.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
Will it affect my water chemistry?
No — it's an inert, non-toxic resin that doesn't alter pH or hardness.
Does it float or sink?
It sinks and sits in place on the substrate; no gluing or weighting down is needed for normal use.
Will it tip over in a tall tank?
Its 11 cm depth gives a stable base for its 19 cm height under normal handling, but bed it into the substrate rather than standing it on bare glass, especially in a tank with active diggers.
Is it reef safe?
Bioscape markets its ornament range as safe for both freshwater and marine setups, but as with any ornament in a sensitive reef system, rinse it well and introduce it gradually if you're being cautious.
