Bioscape Steampunk Skull 2 18 x 12 x 13cm
A wide steampunk skull ornament with heavy gear-and-rivet plating. The Bioscape Steampunk Skull 2 is a hand-finished, non-toxic resin ornament at 18 × 12 × 13 cm, styled with a broader cranium and jaw than its smaller sibling and shaped to work as a mid-ground centrepiece in an aquascape.
Key features
- Hand-finished resin — cast and hand-painted, so texture and colour vary slightly piece to piece.
- Wide, low profile — an 18 cm footprint against a 13 cm height reads as a broader mid-ground feature rather than a tall accent.
- Wide jaw cavity — the open jaw gives mid-sized fish a wider swim-through than a single eye socket.
- Heavy gear plating — cog and rivet detailing across the cranium, not a printed surface pattern.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums, particularly wider tanks where a broad mid-ground feature is wanted. Not suitable as a climbing or basking feature for reptiles or amphibians — it's an aquatic ornament, not terrarium decor.
Care and maintenance
Rinse thoroughly under running water before adding it to the tank to clear manufacturing dust or loose resin particles. No soaking or curing is required — it's inert and won't affect pH or water hardness.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
Will it affect my water chemistry?
No — it's an inert, non-toxic resin that doesn't alter pH or hardness.
Does it float or sink?
It sinks and sits in place on the substrate; no gluing or weighting down is needed for normal use.
Is the jaw opening big enough for larger fish to get stuck?
It's sized as a swim-through for small to mid-sized community fish; check the opening against your largest fish before relying on it as their only hide.
Is it reef safe?
Bioscape markets its ornament range as safe for both freshwater and marine setups, but as with any ornament in a sensitive reef system, rinse it well and introduce it gradually if you're being cautious.
