Exo Terra All Glass Large Tall Terrarium Left Hand Door Only
One cracked pane does not mean a new terrarium. The Exo Terra All Glass Large Tall Terrarium Left Hand Door is the factory replacement front-left glass door for the 90 x 45 x 60 cm Large Tall terrarium, catalogued by Exo Terra as PT2536. It is sold as one door on its own, not as a pair, and it is matched to the terrarium by model rather than by measurement. If the left half of your front glass is chipped, cracked, or scratched past the point of seeing through, this is the part that fixes it.
Key features
- Genuine Exo Terra PT2536 – the same door the terrarium left the factory with, so it seats on the existing hinge points without modification.
- Built for one terrarium size – the Large Tall, 90 x 45 x 60 cm (PT2614). Exo Terra makes a different door for every size in the range, and they are not interchangeable.
- Left-hand side – the door on your left as you stand in front of the terrarium looking in. The right door is a separate part number.
- Sold singly – you replace the pane that broke, not both.
- Keeps the escape-proof front intact – Exo Terra's dual front doors open independently and close onto a locking mechanism. A taped, mismatched or improvised pane defeats the design that stops an animal getting out.
- Restores full visibility – a scratched or crazed door is a husbandry problem as well as a cosmetic one, because you can no longer see the animal you are supposed to be observing daily.
Specifications

|---|---|
| Part | Replacement front glass door, left-hand |
| Manufacturer part number | PT2536 |

Exo Terra does not publish the glass dimensions of the door itself. The part is specified by terrarium model, so match it against the terrarium you own rather than by measuring the broken pane.
Which door do I need?
Stand in front of the terrarium as you would to open it. The door on your left is the left door.
| Side | Part number | Terrarium it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Left | PT2536 – this page | Large Tall, 90 x 45 x 60 cm |
| Right | PT2537 – Right Hand Door | Large Tall, 90 x 45 x 60 cm |
If both panes are damaged, order one of each. There is no pair option.
Will it fit my terrarium?
It fits the Large Tall only – the 90 cm wide, 45 cm deep, 60 cm high model. Height is what separates it from its neighbours in the range, and 90 x 45 covers several of them.
Check the height before ordering. The Large Wide 90 x 45 x 45 cm and the Large Low 90 x 45 x 30 cm share the same footprint and take shorter doors. This door will not fit either of them.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for
- Replacing a cracked, chipped or badly scratched left front door on an Exo Terra Large Tall 90 x 45 x 60 cm terrarium
- Restoring a second-hand terrarium bought without both doors
- Keeping a spare on hand if you run several of this size
Not suitable for
- Any other Exo Terra terrarium size – doors are model-specific
- The Exo Terra Pro range, which is a different enclosure line
- Other brands of glass terrarium
- The right-hand side of the same terrarium – that is PT2537
- Use as a lid, base or divider panel. It is a hinged front door and nothing else
Fitting and care
Move the animal to secure temporary housing before you start. A terrarium with one door out is an open terrarium.
Clean the glass with a reptile-safe cleaner or diluted white vinegar. Avoid ammonia-based household glass sprays, and dry the pane before the animal goes back in.
Check the latch every time you clean. If the original latch is worn or broken as well, replace it at the same time – a new door on a tired latch still opens under pressure.
Goes well with
- Exo Terra Large Tall Right Hand Door (PT2537) – the matching pane, if both sides took the knock.
- Exo Terra Terrarium Glass Door Latch Replacement Kit – the latch is a separate part and is often what actually failed.
- Exo Terra All Glass Large Tall Terrarium 90 x 45 x 60 cm – the terrarium this door belongs to, if the frame is damaged beyond a door swap.
- Exo Terra Pro Terrarium Large / Tall 90 x 45 x 60 cm – the same internal size in the Pro line, worth comparing if you are replacing the whole enclosure.
Warranty and delivery
Exo Terra does not publish a warranty term for individual replacement doors. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply regardless, and any manufacturer warranty sits in addition to them – the part must be of acceptable quality and fit for the purpose it is sold for.
It ships as a fragile glass panel. It is not dangerous goods and needs no cold chain, but it is a single sheet of glass and should be unpacked carefully and checked on arrival.
Common questions
Does the Exo Terra PT2536 door come with a latch?
Exo Terra lists the terrarium door latch as its own separate spare part, so treat the latch as a separate purchase. If your existing latch is intact, reuse it; if it is worn or broken, order the latch replacement kit at the same time.
Which side is the left door?
Left as you stand in front of the terrarium looking in. If you are working from the back of the enclosure, the sides reverse, so orient yourself from the viewing side before ordering.
Will this door fit my 90 x 45 x 45 cm Exo Terra terrarium?
No. That is the Large Wide, and it takes a shorter door. The doors are model-specific and the 60 cm height on this one will not seat in a 45 cm high frame.
Can I buy both doors as a pair?
Exo Terra sells them individually, one part number per side. To replace both, order the left door and the right door separately.
Is the glass tempered or safety glass?
Exo Terra does not publish a glass type or thickness for its replacement terrarium doors, so that cannot be answered from the specification. Handle and transport the pane as ordinary glass.
