Exo Terra Bearded Dragon Food Adult Soft Pellets
A soft, moist staple sized for adult diets. Exo Terra Soft Pellets Adult Bearded Dragon Food is a fortified pellet diet formulated for mature bearded dragons, whose diet naturally shifts toward more plant matter and less protein than a juvenile needs. The soft texture wins over dragons that turn their nose up at hard dry pellets, and it's available in 250 g and 540 g resealable packs.
Key features
- Soft, moist pellet texture — readily accepted and easy to digest, including by dragons that reject dry kibble.
- Protein and plant balance matched to adult needs — lower protein, higher plant content than the juvenile formula.
- Fortified with vitamins and minerals — including added vitamin A, D3 and E to support a captive diet.
- Calcium higher than phosphorus — formulated with the calcium-to-phosphorus balance reptile diets are built around.
- Resealable packaging — 250 g and 540 g packs to match how many dragons you're feeding.

Feeding and directions
Feed each morning, offering slightly more than your dragon will finish in a day, and keep the dish easily accessible. Remove uneaten food and clean the dish daily. Give each animal its own feeding station if you're keeping more than one dragon, and keep fresh water available at all times. Some dragons prefer the pellets moistened with a little fruit juice or water if they're slow to take to the texture at first.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suited to adult bearded dragons as a staple alongside daily fresh greens and occasional live insects as a treat rather than the main protein source. Not formulated for juvenile bearded dragons, which need a higher-protein juvenile diet — use the matching Exo Terra juvenile soft pellet formula instead.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place after opening and reseal the pack between feeds to keep the pellets from drying out or attracting pests.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by your rights under Australian Consumer Law as a packaged pet food product. Ships standard.
Goes well with
- Fresh leafy greens as the bulk of an adult dragon's daily diet
- A calcium supplement for gut-loading live insect treats
- The Exo Terra juvenile soft pellet formula if you're also raising young dragons
Common questions
Can I feed this as the only food my adult dragon eats?
It's designed as a complete staple, but most keepers still offer daily fresh greens alongside it and occasional insects as enrichment rather than a daily requirement.
Does this contain ethoxyquin?
Yes — ethoxyquin is used as a preservative in this formula. It's listed in the ingredient panel above if you'd prefer to avoid it.
What's the difference between the 250 g and 540 g packs?
Pack size only — both are the same adult soft pellet formula. The 540 g pack suits multiple dragons or longer feeding periods without needing to reorder as often.
Can juvenile bearded dragons eat this?
It's formulated for adults, with lower protein and more plant content than a juvenile needs. Use the Exo Terra juvenile soft pellet formula for young or growing dragons.
