Exo Terra Bearded Dragon Food Juvenile Soft Pellets
A high-protein soft pellet built for a growing dragon's appetite. Exo Terra Bearded Dragon Juvenile Soft Pellets is a moist, palatable staple formulated with more protein than the adult formula, matched to the faster growth rate of young bearded dragons. The soft texture is easy to eat and closer to natural prey than a hard dry pellet, and it comes in 250 g and 540 g resealable packs.
Key features
- Soft, moist pellet texture — readily accepted, easy to digest, and closer to the texture of natural prey than dry kibble.
- Higher protein than the adult formula — 30% minimum crude protein, matched to a juvenile's faster growth.
- Fortified with vitamins and minerals — including added vitamin A, D3 and E to support a captive diet.
- Calcium higher than phosphorus — formulated with the calcium-to-phosphorus balance reptile diets are built around.
- Resealable packaging — 250 g and 540 g packs to match how many dragons you're feeding.

Feeding and directions
Feed each morning, offering slightly more than your dragon will finish in a day, and keep the dish easily accessible. Remove uneaten food and clean the dish daily. Give each animal its own feeding station if you're keeping more than one dragon, and keep fresh water available at all times. Juveniles need substantially more insect protein than adults, so pair these pellets with daily gut-loaded live feeders and fresh greens rather than relying on the pellets alone. Some dragons prefer the pellets moistened with a little fruit juice or water if they're slow to take to the texture at first.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suited to juvenile and growing bearded dragons as a staple alongside daily gut-loaded live insects and fresh greens. Not formulated for adult bearded dragons, whose diet should shift toward lower protein and more plant matter — use the matching Exo Terra adult soft pellet formula once your dragon reaches maturity.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place after opening and reseal the pack between feeds to keep the pellets from drying out or attracting pests.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by your rights under Australian Consumer Law as a packaged pet food product. Ships standard.
Goes well with

Common questions
How is this different from the adult formula?
It carries more protein — 30% minimum against 18% minimum in the adult formula — to match a juvenile's faster growth rate. Everything else about the pellet is the same soft, moist texture.
Can this be my dragon's only food?
No. Juvenile bearded dragons need daily gut-loaded live insects as their main protein source, with these pellets and fresh greens as a supplementary staple.
Does this contain ethoxyquin?
Yes — ethoxyquin is used as a preservative in this formula. It's listed in the ingredient panel above if you'd prefer to avoid it.
When should I switch to the adult formula?
Move across once your dragon reaches adult size and its growth rate slows, typically once it's fully grown. The Exo Terra adult soft pellet formula has the matching lower-protein balance.
