Exo Terra Monsoon Solo ll Reptile Mister
A compact, single-terrarium misting system that runs itself. The Exo Terra Monsoon Solo II is a programmable misting system built around a 1.5 litre reservoir and a 2.5 BAR pump, driving one nozzle out of the box and expandable to two – enough to keep a single terrarium at target humidity without a daily top-up.
Key features
- 1.5 litre reservoir – several days of operation between refills.
- 2.5 BAR / 36.25 PSI pump – enough pressure for a fine, even mist through extra-long tubing runs.
- Expands to 2 nozzles – start with one, add a second where the enclosure needs it.
- Programmable cycles – spray durations from 2 seconds to 2 minutes, with multiple misting events across a 24-hour schedule.
- Pressure-resistant polyether tubing – leak-proof push-fit connectors, points in any direction.
Specifications
| Reservoir capacity | 1.5 L (0.40 gallon) |
|---|---|
| Pump pressure | 2.5 BAR / 36.25 PSI |

Which Monsoon do I need?
All three current Monsoon systems share the same programmable timer and push-fit nozzle design. The difference is reservoir size, pump pressure and how many enclosures one unit can cover.
| Model | Reservoir | Pump pressure | Nozzles included | Max nozzles | Spray duration range |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monsoon Nano | External reservoir (not included) | 2 BAR / 29 PSI | 2 | 4 | 1 second – 9 minutes |
| Monsoon Solo II | 1.5 L built-in | 2.5 BAR / 36.25 PSI | 1 | 2 | 2 seconds – 2 minutes |
| Monsoon Multi II | 8 L built-in | 4.5 BAR / 65.25 PSI | 2 | 6 | 2 seconds – 2 minutes |
The Solo II is the one to choose for a single terrarium that needs reliable daily misting without the reservoir size or nozzle count of the Multi II.
What's included
- Monsoon Solo II misting unit with 1.5 L reservoir
- 1 x nozzle
- Pressure-resistant polyether tubing
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for single terrariums and vivariums – dart frogs, chameleons, crested geckos, live-planted builds – needing consistent, unattended misting.
- Not suitable for multi-enclosure rooms; the Multi II's 8 L reservoir and higher pressure cover several terrariums from one unit far more efficiently.
Care and maintenance
Use distilled or reverse-osmosis water in the reservoir – tap water leaves mineral scale in the nozzle and pump, which is the most common cause of a weakening mist. If adding the second nozzle, expect a small drop in pressure at each.
Goes well with
- Exo Terra Monsoon Brass Nozzle Kit – a finer-misting upgrade or replacement nozzle set.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by the Exo Terra manufacturer warranty against defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Standard parcel delivery.
Common questions
How long does the reservoir last between refills?
Exo Terra states the 1.5 L reservoir provides several days of operation before it needs topping up, depending on how often and how long cycles are set to run.
Can I set different mist times for morning and evening?
Yes – the timer supports multiple misting events across a 24-hour cycle, with each spray adjustable from 2 seconds to 2 minutes.
Can I add a second nozzle later?
Yes, the Solo II supports up to two nozzles – adding a second will slightly reduce the mist pressure at each.
Do I need distilled water?
It isn't required, but it's recommended – tap water minerals build up in the nozzle over time and are the main cause of reduced mist quality.
