Enough reservoir and nozzle capacity to mist a whole reptile rack. The Exo Terra Monsoon Multi II is a programmable misting system built for multi-enclosure setups: an 8 litre reservoir and a 4.5 BAR pump drive two nozzles out of the box, expandable to six, so one unit can cover several terrariums on a single schedule.

Key features
  • 8 litre reservoir — enough capacity to run for days between refills, even across multiple nozzles.
  • 4.5 BAR / 65.25 PSI pump — the strongest pump in the Monsoon range, built to hold pressure as nozzles are added.
  • Expands to 6 nozzles — starts with two, grows with your collection using Exo Terra's extension kits.
  • Programmable cycles — spray durations from 2 seconds to 2 minutes, with multiple misting events across a 24-hour schedule.
  • Pressure-resistant polyether tubing — extra-long runs with leak-proof push-fit connectors.
Specifications

Maximum nozzles supported 6
Spray duration range 2 seconds – 2 minutes, programmable
Tubing Pressure-resistant polyether, leak-proof push-fit connectors
Which Monsoon do I need?

All three current Monsoon systems share the same programmable timer and push-fit nozzle design. The difference is reservoir size, pump pressure and how many enclosures one unit can cover.

Model Reservoir Pump pressure Nozzles included Max nozzles Spray duration range
Monsoon Nano External reservoir (not included) 2 BAR / 29 PSI 2 4 1 second – 9 minutes
Monsoon Solo II 1.5 L built-in 2.5 BAR / 36.25 PSI 1 2 2 seconds – 2 minutes
Monsoon Multi II 8 L built-in 4.5 BAR / 65.25 PSI 2 6 2 seconds – 2 minutes

The Multi II is the one to choose when misting more than one enclosure, or a single large, heavily planted terrarium, from one reservoir.

What's included
  • Monsoon Multi II misting unit with 8 L reservoir
  • 2 x brass, multi-directional spray nozzles
  • Pressure-resistant polyether tubing

Additional nozzles and extension kits, needed to reach the full 6-nozzle capacity, are sold separately.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
  • Suitable for reptile and amphibian rooms running several terrariums, large heavily planted enclosures, and paludariums needing sustained high humidity.
  • Not suitable for a single small terrarium, where the smaller Solo II or Nano will run longer between refills for less reservoir to keep topped up.
Care and maintenance

Use distilled or reverse-osmosis water in the reservoir — tap water leaves mineral scale in the pump and nozzles over time, which is the most common cause of reduced mist pressure. Check tubing runs periodically for kinks, especially where a system has been extended to multiple enclosures.

Goes well with
  • Exo Terra Monsoon Nozzle Extension Kit — required to add nozzles beyond the two included, up to the six-nozzle maximum.
  • Exo Terra Monsoon Brass Nozzle Kit — spare or replacement nozzles for a finer mist.
Warranty and delivery

Covered by the Exo Terra manufacturer warranty against defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Standard parcel delivery.

Common questions

How many terrariums can one Multi II cover?

Up to six, once extended to its maximum nozzle count with additional extension kits — though pressure at each nozzle drops as more are added, so tightly packed racks get the most even coverage.

How long does the 8 litre reservoir last between refills?

Exo Terra states the reservoir provides several days of operation between refills; actual runtime depends on how many nozzles are running and how long each cycle is set for.

Can I set different misting times for morning and evening?

Yes — the timer supports multiple misting events across a 24-hour cycle, with spray duration adjustable from 2 seconds to 2 minutes per event.

Do I need distilled water?

It isn't compulsory, but Exo Terra recommends it — tap water minerals build up in the nozzles and pump over time and are the main cause of a weakening mist.
