Gives beneficial bacteria the most surface area of any stage in the filter. This is the genuine Fluval BIOMAX bio-ring insert for the AquaClear AC70 and AC110 power filters, a 125 g single pack. It sits in the final media basket, where it does the ongoing work of a cycled filter: converting ammonia and nitrite into far less harmful nitrate.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for the AquaClear AC70 and AquaClear AC110, freshwater or marine. Not a replacement for mechanical or chemical media – BIOMAX only performs biological filtration, so the foam and carbon stages ahead of it still need their own schedules.
Care and maintenance
Rinse gently in removed tank water if it becomes clogged with debris, and replace roughly every 3 months. Never replace the whole basket at once – swap half at a time so an established bacteria colony always remains in the filter.
