Genuine Fluval strainer that stops your FX canister pulling in fish, fry, and gravel. Fits the intake stem on the Fluval FX4, FX5 and FX6 high-performance canister filters, screening debris before it reaches the intake plumbing and impeller. It's a push-fit replacement — no tools, no glue — for a strainer that's cracked, gone brittle, or been lost during a service.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable as a genuine replacement strainer for any Fluval FX4, FX5 or FX6 canister filter, freshwater or saltwater. Not suitable for Fluval's 06 or 07 series canister filters, or for other manufacturers' canister filters — the intake stem diameter won't match.
Care and maintenance
Brush the strainer clean at every filter service. A fouled strainer is one of the simplest causes of falling FX flow, and it's often mistaken for a media or impeller problem. Replace it if the mesh cracks, distorts, or no longer seats firmly on the stem.
