Suitable for freshwater garden and fish ponds up to 8,000 litres, fed by a pump of around 5,300 litres per hour such as the Fluval Max-Flo 5300. Treat the pond rating as a maximum: heavily stocked ponds, heavy feeding and ponds in strong direct sun do better with a larger filter. The UV clears green water; it is not a treatment for fish disease. Made for freshwater ponds.

Run it from an RCD (residual current device, or safety switch) protected outdoor outlet. Never look at a lit UV-C lamp outside its housing; UV-C light damages eyes and skin. Fluval recommends replacing the UV-C lamp every year to keep algae control working well.
