Feeds corals precisely, polyp by polyp. Ocean Nutrition Coral Pellets Small is a 2.5 mm semi-moist pellet for target-feeding corals and other filter feeders, sized for Ricordea and smaller-mouthed LPS such as Acanthastrea, Blastomussa and Lobophyllia. Built on marine proteins, it softens against a polyp within seconds so you can dose exactly where it's needed without clouding the water.

Key features
  • 2.5 mm semi-moist pellet — small enough to target-feed onto individual polyps without overfeeding the colony.
  • Marine protein base — built from marine copepods, fish fillets, krill, squid and brine shrimp, a food corals recognise and take readily.
  • Nitrogen-flushed pouch — packed to hold freshness; no refrigeration needed until the pouch is opened.
  • Sized for smaller LPS — matched to Ricordea and smaller-mouthed species; a separate 6 mm Large pellet (not stocked here) suits bigger-mouthed corals such as Scolymia and Trachyphyllia.
  • Simple dosing — feed straight from the pouch with a pipette or feeding tool.

Feeding directions

Target-feed onto coral polyps every other day, using a pipette, turkey baster or feeding tool. Feed no more than 30% of the polyps in a colony at a time to avoid overfeeding and fouling water quality.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
  • Suitable for: Ricordea, smaller-mouthed LPS corals such as Acanthastrea, Blastomussa and Lobophyllia, and other filter feeders.
  • Not suitable for: broadcast feeding as a general fish diet — this is a target-feed coral food, not a flake or pellet for fish. Larger-mouthed LPS such as Scolymia, Trachyphyllia, Duncanopsammia and Catalaphyllia need a larger pellet than this 2.5 mm size.
Care and storage

Store the sealed pouch at room temperature. Once opened, keep it refrigerated at 4–6°C and reseal tightly between feeds to keep moisture and air out.

Warranty and delivery

Sold and supported by Nick's Aquarium Oceanarium Terrarium, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. This is an ambient, shelf-stable pack — no cold-chain delivery is required.

Common questions

Is this a flake or pellet food for fish?

No. Coral Pellets Small is a target-feed food for corals and other filter feeders, dosed onto individual polyps rather than scattered across the tank like a fish flake.

Will the Small pellets suit my LPS corals?

They're sized at 2.5 mm for Ricordea and smaller-mouthed LPS such as Acanthastrea, Blastomussa and Lobophyllia. Larger-mouthed species such as Scolymia and Trachyphyllia need a larger pellet than this size.

How often should I feed my corals this pellet?

Every other day, feeding no more than 30% of a colony's polyps at once, is the manufacturer's guidance.

Do I need to refrigerate the pouch?

Only after opening. The sealed pouch is nitrogen-flushed and shelf-stable at room temperature; once opened, refrigerate at 4–6°C to keep it fresh.
