Ocean Nutrition Formula Two Flakes 34g
An algae-rich daily flake for grazing marine fish. Ocean Nutrition Formula Two Flakes is built on kelp, algae meal and spirulina alongside salmon and fish meal, for herbivorous and omnivorous marine tropical fish such as tangs, rabbitfish and angels. It's the plant-forward half of the Formula range — pair it with Formula One Flakes to cover both feeding types in a mixed community tank.
Key features
- Marine algae and kelp base — algae meal, dried kelp, kelp meal and spirulina sit high in the ingredient list for grazing species.
- 50.3% crude protein — still protein-rich, balanced with plant matter rather than built purely on meat.
- For herbivores and omnivores — suits marine angels, batfish, clownfish, chromis, damsels, parrotfish, pygmy angels, rabbitfish and tangs.
- Made in the USA — manufactured to a consistent formulation, not a private-label repack.
- Best rotated with Formula One — the manufacturer recommends using it alongside its meat-forward counterpart for a broader diet.

Feeding directions
Feed one to three times daily, only as much as your fish will finish in about five minutes. For best results, use alongside other Formula flake foods to broaden the diet.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: herbivorous and omnivorous marine fish — angels, batfish, clownfish, chromis, damsels, parrotfish, pygmy angels, rabbitfish and tangs, plus sea stars, urchins, cucumbers, crabs and shrimp.
- Not suitable for: strict carnivores as a sole diet — Formula One Flakes, with its higher meat content, is the better staple for those species.
Care and storage
Store in a cool, dry place and reseal the lid firmly after each feed to keep moisture out. Ocean Nutrition's own guidance is to buy only what your fish will get through in 30–60 days once opened, since nutrients (vitamin C in particular) oxidise and lose potency after the pack is opened.
Warranty and delivery
Sold and supported by Nick's Aquarium Oceanarium Terrarium, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. This is an ambient, shelf-stable pack — no cold-chain delivery is required.
Common questions
What's the difference between Formula One and Formula Two?
Formula Two swaps in more marine algae, kelp and spirulina for herbivore-leaning grazers such as tangs and rabbitfish. Formula One is the higher-protein, meat-forward flake for carnivores. Many mixed reef tanks rotate between the two.
Will this suit my tang?
Yes — tangs are named directly by the manufacturer as a target species, given the flake's algae and kelp content.
How often should I feed my fish this flake?
One to three times a day, feeding only what your fish clear in around five minutes.
Can I feed this alongside Formula One?
Yes — the manufacturer specifically recommends rotating the two Formula flakes for a broader diet in mixed community and reef tanks.
