Ocean Nutrition Marine Algae Sheets
Dried seaweed sheets for tangs, angels and every marine herbivore that grazes. Ocean Nutrition Marine Algae Sheets are dried seaweed with natural garlic extract, sold in Green, Brown and Red — clip a sheet into the tank and let grazing fish work through it at their own pace. Ash and moisture aside, all three share the same garlic-extract recipe and differ mainly in protein and fibre.
Key features
- Three seaweed types — Green (kelp), Brown and Red, so you can rotate colour and nutrient profile through the week.
- Garlic extract included — a known feeding stimulant, already built into every sheet.
- Clip-and-graze format — works with a standard seaweed clip; fish feed at their leisure instead of a single feeding event.
- For herbivorous and omnivorous marine fish — tangs, angels, rabbitfish, wrasses, damsels and butterflyfish, plus many marine invertebrates.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for herbivorous and omnivorous marine fish — tangs, rabbitfish, large and pygmy angels, wrasses, damsels and some butterflyfish — and for many marine herbivorous invertebrates.
- Not a substitute for a protein-based diet on omnivorous or carnivorous species — pair it with a frozen or flake food rather than feeding seaweed alone.
How to feed
Tear off a sheet, fold it into a seaweed clip, and attach the clip to the inside of the aquarium glass. Allow fish to graze, and remove any uneaten seaweed after several hours so it doesn't foul the water. This is a dry, ambient-stable product — it is not frozen and does not need thawing.
Warranty and delivery
Sold and supported by Nick's Aquarium Oceanarium Terrarium, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. This is a dry, shelf-stable pack — no cold-chain delivery is required.
Common questions
What's the difference between the three colours?
Green is dried kelp and runs highest in protein (41.6%); Brown and Red are both dried seaweed blends in the low-to-mid 30% protein range, with Red publishing a moisture figure the manufacturer doesn't publish for Brown. All three include garlic extract as a feeding stimulant.
Do I need a special clip?
A standard seaweed clip with a suction cup works — fold the sheet, attach the clip, and stick it to the glass.
Will this cloud my water?
Only if seaweed is left to break down uneaten — remove any leftover sheet after a few hours.
Can invertebrates eat this too?
Yes, many marine herbivorous invertebrates will graze on it alongside herbivorous fish.
