Orca Small Air Stone
Fine bubbles add oxygen without a new pump. This Orca small air stone connects to standard 4 mm airline tubing and breaks the air from your pump into a stream of fine bubbles, increasing surface agitation and gas exchange in the tank.
Key features
- Fine-bubble diffusion — breaks pump air into small bubbles for better gas exchange than a bare tube.
- Standard airline fitting — connects directly to 4 mm aquarium airline tubing.
- Adds gentle water movement — useful in corners or low-flow areas a filter outlet doesn't reach.
- Low cost to run — driven by your existing air pump, with no separate power draw of its own.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for adding surface movement and gas exchange in fresh or marine aquariums, sponge filter builds, and hospital or quarantine tanks.
Not suitable as a replacement for a filter or a protein skimmer — an air stone adds gas exchange and movement, it doesn't filter or mechanically clean the water. In a reef tank, check the bubble stream doesn't drive off CO2 you're dosing for, or disturb livestock sensitive to strong water movement.
Care and maintenance
Air stones clog with mineral deposits and biofilm over time, which shows up as larger, fewer bubbles instead of a fine stream. Replace it at that point rather than trying to clean it — a clogged stone is cheaper to replace than to restore.
Goes well with
- Orca Air Line Gate Green — throttle the bubble stream if it's stronger than you want.
- Orca Air Line T White — run this air stone alongside a second outlet from the same pump.
- Bioscape Tropic Air Pump 500 Single w/Check Valve — the pump that drives this air stone.
Warranty and delivery
This is a small consumable and isn't covered by a separate manufacturer warranty; your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply regardless. It ships as a standard parcel item.
Common questions
What size airline does it fit?
Standard 4 mm aquarium airline tubing.
How do I know when to replace it?
When the bubbles get larger and less frequent instead of a fine, steady stream, even after checking the airline for kinks.
Can I use it in a saltwater tank?
Yes, it's suitable for both freshwater and marine systems.
Does it filter the water?
No — it adds gas exchange and gentle movement only. Use a filter or skimmer for mechanical and biological filtration.
