Red Sea Reef LED G2 60
A 60 W nano reef light with app-controlled spectrum and a genuine published PAR figure to plan your placement. The Red Sea ReefLED G2 60 is the second-generation update to Red Sea's compact reef LED, built for nano and small reef displays where a single puck-style fixture needs to cover the whole tank. Spectrum, intensity and scheduling are all set through the ReefBeat app rather than on the unit itself.
Key features
- 60 W second-generation LED engine — wider spread than the original ReefLED G1, in the same compact puck footprint.
- Fully adjustable spectrum, 10,000K–23,000K at full intensity — with boosted violet, UV and a stronger 470 nm blue channel for coral fluorescence.
- ReefBeat app control over Wi-Fi — programmable sunrise, sunset, moon phase, five manual presets, a UV-only mode and a dedicated coral-photography setting.
- Acclimation mode — ramps intensity gradually when the light first goes over an established reef, rather than shocking corals with full output on day one.
- Compact 12 x 12 x 5 cm footprint (4.7 x 4.7 x 2 in) — sits close to the water without dominating an open-top nano.

Performance: PAR by depth
Red Sea publishes a PAR distribution map for the ReefLED G2 60 rather than a full point-by-point table. The two figures Red Sea confirms directly under the fixture are below — we haven't interpolated the depths in between, because Red Sea hasn't published them as discrete numbers.
| Depth below fixture | PAR (µmol/m²/s) |
|---|---|
| Water surface (0 cm) | ≈500 |
| 51 cm (20 in) | ≈100 |
PAR falls off faster at the edges of the coverage area than directly underneath the fixture, and mounting height above the water changes both figures — Red Sea's own distribution map, available on their site, is the reference for edge readings and intermediate depths.
Running costs
At 60 W and a typical 8-hour reef photoperiod, that works out to about 175 kWh a year — roughly $52 a year at a 30c/kWh tariff. Your actual figure depends on your photoperiod and local tariff.
What's included / not included
- Included: ReefLED G2 60 fixture and power supply.
- Not included: mounting hardware. You'll need a wire suspension kit or mounting arm, and — if you're hanging it from a Red Sea pendant bar — the matching ReefLED adapter tray. All sold separately.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: nano and small reef displays, and as one unit in a multi-fixture array over a wider tank.
- Not suitable for: freshwater or planted setups — this is a reef-tuned spectrum, not a general planted-tank light.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Red Sea's manufacturer warranty against defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Standard shipping across Australia.
Common questions
Will one ReefLED G2 60 cover my whole tank?
It's built for nano and small reef displays as a single fixture. On wider tanks, reefers typically run two or three across the length rather than relying on one unit to spread evenly edge to edge.
Does it come with a mount?
No — the box includes the fixture and power supply only. A wire suspension kit or mounting arm is a separate purchase, so it's worth deciding on mounting before you order.
Can I run it over an established reef without stressing my corals?
Yes — the ReefBeat app's acclimation mode ramps intensity up gradually over a set period rather than switching straight to your target schedule.
Does the G2 improve on the original ReefLED 60 (G1)?
Red Sea markets the G2 as having improved optics and spread over G1 in the same footprint; we haven't independently confirmed a numeric spread figure.
