Red Sea ReefCan 18ltr

A top-up reservoir sized to fit under the cabinet, built for a Red Sea ATO pump. The Red Sea ReefCan 18 is a tall, narrow transparent container designed to hold RO/DI top-off water for an automatic top-off system such as the ReefATO+ — its rear port is fitted for the tubing and siphon breaker your ATO pump draws through, rather than being a general-purpose storage bucket.

Key features
  • Cabinet-friendly shape — tall and narrow (55 × 9 × 44 cm) to fit beside a sump in a standard aquarium cabinet rather than taking up floor space.
  • Built for an ATO pump — the rear opening is fitted with a cap designed to hold the siphon breaker that comes with Red Sea's ReefATO+ pump.
  • Transparent body — see remaining water level at a glance without opening the container.
  • Genuine Red Sea part — factory part number R35631.

Which size do I need?

The ReefCan comes in two sizes — 18 L and 40 L. The 18 L suits smaller systems or a shorter time between refills; the 40 L buys more time between top-ups on larger tanks or heavier evaporation. Both share the same cabinet-friendly footprint, just at different heights.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
  • Suitable for: holding RO/DI top-off water for an automatic top-off system, particularly Red Sea's own ReefATO+.
  • Not suitable for: general salt mix or dry media storage — Red Sea doesn't publish this as a sealed, moisture-proof container, and the rear tubing port isn't designed as a scoop-in lid.
Care and maintenance

Rinse periodically to stop algae building up on the inside where light reaches the transparent body. Check the rear port seal around the siphon breaker if you notice slow water loss.

Common questions

Can I store salt mix in the ReefCan?

It's designed and marketed by Red Sea as a top-off water reservoir, not a sealed salt container. If you want dry salt storage, look for a container Red Sea markets for that purpose.

Does it come with a pump or tubing?

No. This is the reservoir only — pair it with the ReefATO+ system for a complete top-off setup.

How much water does the 18 L size actually hold usable?

18 L is the rated capacity; Red Sea doesn't publish a separate "usable" figure below that once the pump's intake and siphon breaker are accounted for.

What sizes does the ReefCan come in?

Two: 18 L (this listing) and 40 L.
