Zoo Med Repti Rock Reservoir 625ml

A water dish designed to stop bugs and babies drowning in it. The Zoo Med Repti Rock Reservoir holds a 625 mL (22 oz) water reserve in a rock-look basin, then feeds it into a small, shallow drinking basin so the animal always has fresh water without wading through — or foothold-tipping — a deep, open bowl.

Key features
  • 625 mL (22 oz) reserve — keeps water topped up for longer between refills than a single open dish.
  • Small drinking basin — the shallow front basin discourages reptiles from sitting in and fouling their water supply.
  • Insect guard — stops crickets, roaches and small lizards climbing in and getting stuck or drowning.
  • Extra-wide base — resists tipping and spilling compared with a narrow-footed dish.
  • Rock-look finish — blends into naturalistic terrarium hardscape.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suited to terrariums housing geckos, skinks and similar reptiles that benefit from a longer-lasting, self-levelling water supply, and to keepers who free-range feed insects and want fewer of them drowning in the water dish. Not a substitute for daily water changes — the reserve extends time between refills, it doesn't replace cleaning.

Care and maintenance

Empty, rinse and refill regularly rather than only topping up, since biofilm can build up in the reserve chamber the same as any other water container. Wash with warm water and a reptile-safe cleaner; the smooth finish wipes clean without scrubbing.

Goes well with

The matching Repti Rock Food Dish for a coordinated feeding and drinking station, and a reptile-safe water conditioner if tap water is used.

Common questions

How is this different from the standard Repti Rock Water Dish?

The Water Dish is a single open bowl. The Reservoir adds a 625 mL reserve chamber that feeds a small drinking basin, so the animal always has a fresh, shallow amount of water rather than a full open dish that fouls faster.

How often should I refill it?

Zoo Med doesn't publish a fixed interval — check and top up at least daily, and fully empty and rinse it on your regular enclosure cleaning schedule.

Will it stop crickets drowning?

The insect guard is designed to stop insects and small lizards climbing into the reserve chamber and getting stuck, which reduces drowning risk compared with an open dish.

What size reptile is it suited to?

Zoo Med markets it for small to medium terrarium species such as geckos and skinks; very large lizards may need a bigger-volume water source.
