Zoo Med Reptibator Egg Incubator
Set your eggs, dial in the temperature and humidity, and let the ReptiBator hold both steady until they hatch. The Zoo Med ReptiBator is a digital reptile egg incubator with a pulse-proportional thermostat, a live humidity display and a clear lid for checking eggs without opening the unit. It suits anyone incubating reptile eggs who wants set-and-forget temperature stability rather than watching a dial.
Key features
- Pulse-proportional thermostat — regulates heat in small pulses rather than switching fully on and off, holding temperature more steadily than a basic thermostat.
- 15°C to 40°C (59°F to 104°F) range — covers the incubation temperatures published for the great majority of commonly bred reptile species.
- 10–95% humidity display — reads relative humidity so you can track conditions without a separate hygrometer.
- Programmable temperature alarm — alerts you if the incubator drifts outside the range you set.
- Built-in memory backup — retains your temperature and alarm settings through a power failure.
- Clear inspection lid — check on eggs without opening the unit and disturbing temperature or humidity.
- Multiple moulded water reservoirs — flow-through ventilation draws air across a sponge insert in the reservoirs for even humidity, rather than a single stagnant water tray.

Will it fit my setup?
At 45.7 x 45.7 x 24.1 cm, the ReptiBator sits on a shelf or bench rather than inside an enclosure — it's a standalone incubation unit, not something built into a terrarium. Confirm you have bench space clear of draughts and direct sun, since both affect how hard the thermostat has to work to hold temperature.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for incubating reptile eggs across the temperature range most commonly bred species require, from geckos and pythons through to chelonians. Not a brooder or hatchling enclosure — once eggs hatch, hatchlings need to move to an appropriately set-up enclosure. Not rated for use as a general-purpose terrarium heater.
Setup and use
Set your target temperature and humidity using the digital controller before adding eggs, and let the unit stabilise for several hours. Zoo Med does not publish incubation temperature and humidity figures for individual species on the incubator itself — check the requirements for your species before setting up, since these vary widely between egg-laying reptiles.
Not included
Egg containers, incubation medium (such as vermiculite or perlite) and a backup thermometer/hygrometer are not included and are sold separately.
Care and maintenance
Top up the water reservoirs as needed to maintain humidity, and clean the reservoirs periodically to prevent mineral buildup and mould. Keep the unit on a stable, level surface away from draughts and direct sunlight.
Goes well with
A separate digital thermometer/hygrometer as a cross-check on the built-in display, and suitable incubation containers and substrate for your species' eggs.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Zoo Med's manufacturer warranty against defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
What temperature should I set for my species?
This varies by species — the ReptiBator holds whatever temperature and humidity you set, but Zoo Med doesn't publish species-specific figures on the unit. Check a care guide or breeder reference for your species before setting up.
How is this different from a basic on/off incubator?
The pulse-proportional thermostat delivers heat in small, continuous pulses rather than switching the heating element fully on and off, which keeps the temperature swing smaller than a basic thermostat produces.
Can I check on eggs without opening the lid?
Yes — the clear cover is designed for visual inspection without opening the unit and disturbing the internal temperature and humidity.
What happens if the power goes out?
The built-in memory retains your temperature and alarm settings, so the incubator resumes on the same settings once power returns rather than needing to be reprogrammed.
